I think the legal code in Palestine is more of a collage of law, representing an admixture of customary, Ottoman, British, Egyptian, and Jordanian legal codes.

I would also disagree that the British legal code is necessarily an improvement upon Ottoman law. The Brits themselves deferred to the Ottoman Land Code of 1858 while entrusted with administration of Palestine, and ironically, this code is applied to this day by Israeli courts, however dishonestly.
