To be really consistent, all government contractors would also be deprived of the vote. This could be difficult to operationalize — for example, a Section-8 landlord, a solar panel manufacturer, and a vaccine producer are all recipients of subsidies that are not easily parsed out from other income.

Virginia has a recent history of electing a governor of the opposite party to the president elected the year before. That hid the relentless assault during the Obama era on the long-standing cozy arrangement between the establishment wings of the two parties. After Trump took the oath, what I refer to as RINO filth essentially switch sides in Virginia, the establishment types went neutral, allowing the Democrats to wreak havoc in Virginia.

Everything else aside, Youngkin represents a modus vivendi between the establishment wing and still ascending MAGA. It’s anything but meaningless that the RINO filth (e.g. The Lincoln Project) have been flushed out and now openly align and coordinate with the freaks on the left.

The Democrats understood that the only way for them to won in Virginia was to divide Youngkin from MAGA support. Trump and Youngkin ensured that didn’t happen and that MAGA wasn’t discouraged to turn out.

If it were up to me, I would limit voting to landowners, regardless of gender or race — at least, as a starting point (I would probably want to add some requirement that voting also require paying some minimum amount of federal income tax). So we’ll win when the Democrats cause our win to happen (see 2) and lose every single other time Democrats care. Also

One thing for sure is that societies like this become increasingly dysfunctional.

It’s negative totalitarianism. The elite gain absolute power but discover that people disconnect and the economy collapses.

In contrast, positive totalitarianism is an elite with absolute power working to better the conditions of the public (for example Hitler’s National Socialism – at least for ethnic Germans, or currently the Chinese Communist Party’s national development project).

The US needs to switch poles – negative to positive. The Democratic option disappeared on 23rd November 1963.
