I think you really don’t see the point I’m trying to make here. Yes, the future belongs to those who show up for it, but look at who is literally not showing up for it. Our descendants. We boomers got some of that demonization of whites. But we had other ways of seeing the world, too. Normal ways, like all other humans, of see ourselves as good. But, after the Jewish cultural triumph in the 60s, the white hatred started picking up speed. It was noticeable in the 70s and dominant in the 80s. By the 90s it owned the field in terms of cultural influence.

It was hard enough for boomers themselves to keep from succumbing to the power of the practiced Jewish way of seeing us. Yes, Indians do make entertaining movies. For me, the best part is the music.

I was born and raised in SW Virginia (8 generations) not far from where Anthony recorded this song. Upon first listening, I appreciated the sound, simplicity and vocals of the song more than anything. Reminded me of (not sober) Tyler Childers.

But to comment about the first of your three thoughts: hope. “Richmen North of Richmond� is a song of despair, not hope. It’s hopeless.

Of course it’s very relatable, especially for Whites growing up under similar circumstances. But still, it’s a song of despair. Of surrender. Of sadness. Perhaps that’s what makes it “the perfect country and western song� (to quote David Allen Coe) and I do still enjoy it for that reason.

It’s plain to see: due to New York Times v Sullivan, it’s all a ridiculous pro forma farce — why would anyone with even a remote chance of being designated a ‘limited purpose public figure’ bother to file a defamation suit? — the burden to show ‘actual malice’ is so high that it means success is very, very unlikely.
