Scores of millions of distant British keeping hundreds of millions of Indians on the edge of starvation was enabled by relatively small numbers of British soldiers and much greater numbers of well-fed Indian soldiers threatening requisite violence [6]. It has been estimated by Amaresh Misra that 10 million Indians were massacred in the decade after the 1857 Indian Mutiny (Indian Rebellion) as reprisals for 2,000 British deaths [15, 16].

I think Mr Yeats’ essay is generally accurate but many of the people that rioted were not typical working class British people. Typical working class British people would not use the murder of children as an excuse to loot shops, commit arson, and throw bricks at the police.

I was going to ask the same question: why no parties like AfD or France’s National Rally in UK?

Here’s the BBC report on the election in Germany, and they can’t help themselves from using that smear/scare term “far right”.

The “middle class’ imagine many things about themselves including their imagined superiority while accepting the grading system which defines them — no different than is common practice for supermarket eggs! The majority of these men and women seem not to realize the extent of conformity necessary for them to be accepted — if they are to at the very least — stay on the rung of the ladder they are on, aside from maybe moving up a notch between the rungs.

There is no way for them to objectively grade themselves satisfactorily. They are condemned like wine to be graded by an arbitrary system which ought to cause some doubt as to the veracity of a system which assigns wines a rating of one to one hundred where one never sees a rating less than 89 no matter the price, the provenance, or the taste. Many wines should get 0 — they are not palatable.

Few dare to buck a system where their place on the “ladder� is so tenuous. This is a consequence of mass education, advertising to the masses, and mass brainwashing. Members of the masses will conform to any number of false premises foisted on them by appeals to their vanities and their ignorance.

Why didn’t the soldiers in the Great War throw down their arms en mass and go home? Why did they conform in the first instance?

Do sheep read. Most certainly books are sold. The fourth question I ask of people I meet is “…what are you reading these days?� I throw out the question without challenge. I affect a casual sincerity.

No different than “…so what about the weather lately?� I can say, no-one ever says, Don Quixote!

Don Quixote teaches us that life is to be challenged. That passion and discipline of a determined soul are a foundational element of being a leader rather than a follower. Quixote does *not* accept current reality. He forces his creativity on life rather than accept to conform. He depends on his commitment and his happiness by being true to his inner drives.

Don Quixote was banned in Chile in 1981 for “containing a plea for individual freedom, and an attack on authority.�

The vast middle class believe such a notion to be antithetical. The things they accept are forced upon them by intentional processes which weed out the nonconformists. Few can tolerate being an outsider.
