注目盤から1曲ずつ。


Georgia - "Never Let You Go"

どちらかと言うとM.I.A.っぽさがあった2015年の前作『Georgia』からだいぶ垢抜けて歌もうまくなり、より普遍的なポップ・シンガーになったという印象。なぜかBBCのSound of 2020のロングリストにも入っていたり。



Bombay Bicycle Club - "Racing Stripes"

2014年の前作『So Long, See You Tomorrow』は好きなアルバムだったが、その後活動休止に。もうBombay Bicycle Clubとして活動することはないだろうと思っていたらまさかの再始動。デビュー時から薄毛気味だったVo.ジャック・ステッドマンは潔くスキンヘッドになり、そんな姿勢もかっこいい。先に公開された「Eat, Sleep, Wake (Nothing But You)」と「Everything Else Has Gone Wrong」はなんとも意味深なMV。



Sarah Mary Chadwick - "When Will Death Come"

ニュージーランド出身の女性シンガーのたぶん4作目。粗野で繊細、力強くも美しい歌声という意味で、個人的には女性版Nick Caveだと思っている。それにしてもひどいジャケだ。
