Dominic "Dom" Beasley is a minor character appearing in Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.
He is voiced by Tony von Halle.
History[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Dom's life prior to the events of the game, only a few things are mentioned across the storyline. At some point in his life, he met Glenn Scoville, who became an adrenaline junkie like Dom, thanks to his influence, as mentioned by Glenn himself to Trevor during his Bail Bond mission. He also has an illegitimate daughter with a woman named Karen Lichti, who posts on his Lifeinvader page in an attempt to track him down. Dom makes a reference to his daughter in the bike race down Mount Chiliad, where he taunts Franklin by saying that Franklin "rides slower than [his] daughter – and [he] hasn't even met the girl".
Dom is constantly seen engaging in high-risk activities such as skydiving and racing dirtbikes. His day job is as a hedge fund manager, and he is equally competitive and egotistical in both settings.
Events of Grand Theft Auto Online (before GTA V)[]
Throughout GTA Online, Dom will contact the player by mobile phone, inviting him to extreme base jump events located at the "Parachute" markers on the map. Each call will involve him bragging about how he either has or is about to pull off a parachute jump before inviting the player to complete it with him. After the call, a specific Parachuting waypoint will be highlighted. Once the player has completed at least one parachute jump, Dom will stop calling them.
Events of Grand Theft Auto V[]
Franklin Clinton is introduced to Dom during Risk Assessment, when a dog (that Franklin converses with, and only he ever sees) leads Franklin to Dom, who is tied up after crashing his parachute into a tree, which Franklin untangles him from.
Immediately after being rescued, Dom pressures Franklin into parachuting with him. Franklin acquiesces to his demands, and Dom leads him to his helicopter, where his awaiting pilot, Jeff, flies them to 10,000 feet, and Dom and Franklin parachute to the summit of Mount Chiliad. Unknown to Franklin, Dom had planned a bike race between them, and had bikes left on the summit of Mount Chiliad, so the pair could have a race down the mountain. Completing this mission unlocks the Parachute Jumps throughout San Andreas.
After this, Dom tells Franklin to meet him at Los Santos International Airport. Meeting him there will start the mission Liquidity Risk, where Dom has two ATVs, which he and Franklin drive into a Cargo Plane. The Cargo Plane then flies over the Alamo Sea, and Dom and Franklin drive their quad Bikes out of it to engage in another one of Dom's crazy stunts.
A while after that, Dom will send Franklin a text telling him that he free-climbed the Maze Bank Tower and is waiting on the roof for Franklin. Meeting him there will start the Targeted Risk mission, where Dom and Franklin parachute from the Maze Bank Tower onto a moving Flatbed truck.
In his final mission, Uncalculated Risk, Franklin encounters the mysterious dog once again and learns that Dom, after psyching himself up, is preparing to jump from the dam without a parachute, believing that he could survive the fall due to his high level of adrenaline. Dom jumps from the top of the Land Act Dam without a parachute and ends up falling to his death. His death is reported in the Daily Globe by Forrest Simon.
Events of Grand Theft Auto Online (after GTA V)[]
In October 2024, Dom Beasley appears as one of the 10 ghosts in Los Santos to be photographed for the Ghost Exposed documentary series team during the Halloween event as part of the continuation of the Bottom Dollar Bounties update. He appears at his place of death at the Land Act Dam.
Ironically, the background song used for his encounter is a slowed remix of the final segment of "Crocodile Tears"[1] score track from The Music of Grand Theft Auto V, played when Trevor Philips is saved from dying in a plane crash by conveniently finding a parachute at the last minute during Minor Turbulence. This is a reference to how Dom's death would have been easily avoided if he did put his parachute on.
Similar to other ghosts found in-game, some of his final words – idle dialogue overheard by Franklin before the cutscene in Uncalculated Risk and his final scream – are heard during his ghostly encounter with a slow voice and echo effect.
Further Notes[]
Dom Bleasey's Parachuting Jobs, along with all pre-Gunrunning update content, is still available to be played post timeline advance in GTA Online. All of these original Contact Missions, including Dom's phone calls and missions, are still set in their original setting of 2013.
In the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, set in 2024, Dom's original Parachuting Jobs are retconned as new Junk Energy parachuting missions and his contact is removed from the player's phone.

Trivia[]
- Dom's death is somewhat ironic, as during the helicopter flight in Risk Assessment, he lectures Franklin about how all jumpers must check their own parachute.
- The player can collect Dom's money after he lands in the water. His money will float down the flowing river, and each pile is worth approximately $625.
- If called in GTA Online or GTA V, his answer message will be: "You've reached the Dominator. Call back when I'm not making history".
- Dom can be seen parachute jumping in the introductory video of the Skydiving and Drop Zone lessons of the Flight School.
- Before dying, Dom starts panicking right after jumping from the top of the dam. It can suggest that he realized that Franklin was right about trying to warn him.
