His film debut was as Captain Willie La Roche, in the 1941 Sam Austin classic movie Curse of Triton.

Jones became so well-known that a street in Vinewood Hills, Los Santos was named after him. He also has a star dedicated to him on the Vinewood Walk of Fame.
