Austin was a famous movie director in the Vinewood movie scene.
He was known to make legendary movies that had ridiculous plots and cost too much to produce, such as Harridan of the Seine and Curse of Triton.
He was the owner of Sam Austin Productions, which is a competitor to Richards Majestic Productions. His movies are rated higher than the Richards Majestic's movies. Somewhat ironically, Solomon Richards' office in Backlot City is located in the Sam Austin Memorial Building.
Austin has a road named after him in Richman, Los Santos, as well as a star on the Vinewood Walk of Fame.
