The whole Orthodox World is hoping and has her heart set on Russia succeeding.

If I recall correctly, you are strongly opposed to the lockdown policies imposed by western regimes on their citizens.

If I may ask, why are you so anti-Russia? What is the root of your sympathy for the Kiev government?

Huh? What does the first have to do with the second?

Shouldn't be difficult to understand unless you are thick as a brick.

    Replies: @Mario Partisan

    Are you anti-American as well?

Huh? What does the first have to do with the second?

I’m anti-Russian because they invaded another sovereign, independent country and have caused grievous harms on the people and country that are far out of proportion to any harms that Ukraine may have imposed on Russia in the past.

My overview would be that those controlling the US from the "Middle East's Only Democracy" are hoping for and promoting a massive military blowout in the region, as seems to be upcoming. They will not get involved themselves, and thus have ruled out a no-fly zone over Ukraine, but will adopt Stalin's gameplan, which was to allow Europe to autodestruct before unleashing forces massed on her borders and ready for the unstoppable invasion which was planned for August 1941, had Hitler not pre empted it.
Following this auto da fe, "US" financiers will enter the region with dollars a plenty, and offer to "help reconstruct" the region - with the proviso of course that the new government installed in Russia will be of the puppet variety.
And thus, they will advance to China's borders and turn off the gas supplies which that nation has been lulled into a false sense of security about.
Net result, of course, being the US return to global superpower status from the hollowed out wreck which it is today, the restoration of its currency as the reserve currency worldwide - and last but not least, the final showdown with China.

This will come after the complete destruction of what is left of the Ukranian regular forces in the East. It will no doubt be ugly and there will be plenty for the West to attempt to hang the "war crimes" canard on, but the outcome will remain the same. I am also of the mind that Putin may be going for more than is realized at the moment. I.E., it will not simply be securing the East and a possible partition of Ukraine. I think when all is said and done, Ukraine will be from one end to the other fully back under Russian control. There is not all that much NATO could do to stop this save for measures that would necessarily lead to nuclear war but that may still be a potential result, who knows. The naysayers can scoff if they will but they make the mistake of being lulled into a delirium by the combo of the propaganda tidal wave from Western media sources combined with Russian inscrutability on exactly what they plan, what goals are, and what the end of conflict actually means/looks like. The Russian army has abandoned Kiev and several other cities and is concentrating in Donbass to surround and destroy the hunkered down Ukrainian army.

The Russian army west of Kiev had to be withdrawn as it was in danger of being encircled. The lack of any threat to Kiev will make it possible to send strong forces to attack any Russian tank drive closing the back door on the dug in Ukrainian army in Donbass , So the Russian pincers from the north ounth wings Russian offensive will have to fight on the east and west as well as a north or south axis

But, internally, this is not the worst possible outcome by any means because what the politicians bungled, the military men are being called in to fix now.

It is kind of dubious that the 'military men' are able to do the things that one might assume they are the great experts at. Maybe they are so bad at warfighting because they spend all therir time plotting coups?

Much depends on the success of the Russian offensive in the Donbass

What Obama said in 2014 (as did Kissinger) was that Russia was no superpower, but rather a regional power and that it was in an irreversible decline. There are unmistakable signs that the Russian army is not powerful (as Kissinger said id in 2014). It is supposed to be able to compensate with massed artillery, yet no major city has been taken so far.

In the Donbass the objective of the coming Russian offensive are known, as is the long exposed route it will have to take. When you factor in GPS artillery pinpointing is already zeroed in and the Ukrainians have the advantage of interior lines and much superior technology (it is actuall 1000 switchblades drones Ukraine has been promised of which several hundred have been delivered already) it is very difficult see how the Russian offensive could succeed even with superlative morale and motivation among the troops yet the reinforcements for the Donbass are from units that have just been literally decimated. A crushing defeat and a period of weak leadership if not chaos in Russia are begining to look very likely. I think Russia will be a serious threat to Ukraine for the foreseeable future.

In WW2 it took like 5 million being captured by Hitler before the rest decided to forget about the vodka and start fighting proper Russian style,

They got half a million American trucks, plus much else and while it is true the Russians were slow in the cases everyone thinks about they were fighting inside Russia and were not fighting alone. Time is not on Russia's side because they have not mobilized and Ukraine has. They would be better off starting the ground attack immediately and calling up the reserves too. As it is the Ukrainian military have more troops to draw on and their equipment, much of which is better, is pilling up by the week Europe is emptying it war stocks of all these sophisticated weapons.

They are not actual 'flamethrower's they are fuel air rocket munitions with a relatively short range and will be no use in open steppe. The Ukrainians are going to be all set up and waiting in full force by the time the Russians compete their ponderous concentration. What seems to be happening is the Russian military are deluding themselves that the Ukrainians will not be able to stand and fight a conventional battle in open country so if the Russian tanks ans SP gens plus slogistics to keep them in action arrive en mass in good order after endless air attacks it does not matter when. Big mistake. Many Russian generals have the appearance of heavy drinkers, that may be an explanation.

Although this statement of yours is all true, you don't really see the big picture, and you exaggerate the situation horribly. I should know, as I live in Taiwan, and I have lived here for over 30 years.

"Taking an island is one of them. Taiwan, with well over 20 million people could raise a million man army to defend their island. At some point you have to stop the bombardment and send your infantry in to kill the defenders in their pill boxes, tunnels and caves. Go read how difficult it was for the US to take Sugarloaf, a 50 foot high mound on Okinawa and then remember Taiwan is the most mountainous island in Asia with hundreds of peaks as high as 13,000 feet. Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions that would open up on any Chinese forces that get ashore."

"Taiwan could raise a million man army." So, where are they? Why, in the face of the YUGE threat from China, according to the American media anyway, haven't the Taiwanese organized their reserves? That's right, Taiwan has a huge reserve of so-called "soldiers" who have completed their mandatory military service who could be called up for service to defend "The Republic of China". The problem is, these reservists have NO IDEA where to report in the case of belligerence. That's right, they haven't been informed where to report or what their duties will be. They have not undergone regular and routine training to be prepared for WAR. In other words, when the SHTF, there will be total chaos. Next, I mentioned that these "soldiers" who completed their mandatory military service could be called up as reservists, but I didn't mention the length of their mandatory military service. Young men in Taiwan used to serve for TWO YEARS in the military; in my view, that's a reasonable amount of time to receive some significant military training. The problem is that 15 or 20 years ago they began shortening the service time, and for the past years young men have been required to serve FOUR MONTHS only. What kind of "soldiers" do you think they are?

"...send your infantry in to kill the defenders in their pill boxes, tunnels and caves" I went exploring the pill boxes, tunnels and caves here in Southern Taiwan. They were all built by the Japanese. "Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions..." UTTER NONSENSE. You do not inhabit the world of reality. Do you think Taiwan has built significant military infrastructure like this, honeycombing the high mountains with tunnel and gun positions? Firstly, the high mountains are too far from the coast; it is the low mountains closer to the coast that the Japanese fortified to prepare for an American attack from the south. The Americans had determined the beaches in southern Taiwan for an assault, and the Japanese knew which they would attack. These fortifications are still there, but they are not in use.

The summary here is clear: Taiwan has depended and still depends on expected US intervention and protection in the case of a Chinese attack.

I should mention that it is my opinion that the Chinese have no plan to attack Taiwan unless certain clear red lines are crossed. These include but are not limited to 1) any declaration from Taiwan that China feels is one of independence 2) any significant US troops sent to the island 3) US naval visits to Taiwan ports 4) the sale of significantly better and offensive weapons from the US.

Time is on the side of the Chinese. Their economy will continue to grow, regardless of US actions to try to contain it or sanction it.

Now let's talk honestly about how a Chinese attack would manifest. First, there would be no storming of the beaches. Your statement: "At some point you have to stop the bombardment and send your infantry in to kill the defenders", is true, if there are actually defenders who have the stomach to continue to the fight and believe that they have a fighting chance to win. Any Chinese attack on Taiwan would begin with a decapitation effort. The main government buildings, the Taiwan presidential palace, the Legislative Yuan building, etc. would be destroyed. This would deal a strong blow to the spirit of the people of Taiwan, as they would feel that their government was gone, which would be partly true. At the same time, missiles would pound military bases, airfields, ports, etc, hampering Taiwan's ability to put planes in the air and ships and boats at sea. Civilian infrastructure would not be attacked. At this point, negotiations for surrender would begin.

I hope that this scenario never plays out, and I'm sure that if it does, it will be the result of US provocation.

    https://news.cgtn.com/news/2022-03-31/The-untold-secrets-of-America-s-biolabs-in-Ukraine--18QlXvmuNa0/index.html

…according to the research from U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has so far invested over $200 million … to collaborate with Ukraine on these labs. A U.S.-Ukraine agreement signed in 2005 also clearly stipulates that DoD representatives have the right to participate in related activities at facilities in Ukraine and the Ukrainian side shall store all dangerous pathogens at these labs, share relevant data with the U.S., transfer to the U.S. pathogen strains, and withhold from public disclosure of information designated by the U.S. as “sensitive.” [Why? – The Ziocons insist that this is a healthcare-related program]

What is hidden in the biolabs?

The U.S. claims that the facilities in Ukraine would help prevent biological security risks and improve public health. However, the Russian defense ministry recently disclosed information showing the scope of U.S. biological military activities in Ukraine. With Ukraine as the center, the U.S. has set up a secret biological research network spanning Europe and Asia. For instance, the UP-4 project studies the possibility of the spread of avian viruses through migrating birds. The R-781 project considers bats as carriers of pathogens that can be transmitted to humans. The UP-8 project studies the Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever and hantavirus. It is argued that the UP-8 project is conducted because the pathogens studied have natural foci both in Ukraine and Russia, and their use can be disguised as natural outbreaks of diseases.

Why does the U.S. stand against the world?

The White House claimed on March 10 that the U.S. is in full compliance with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and does not develop or possess such weapons anywhere. However, over the past two decades or so, the U.S. has been standing alone in opposing the establishment of a BWC verification mechanism, asserting the unverifiability of the biological field and that verification may pose threats to its national interests and business secrets. In the meantime, the U.S. is the sole possessor state party of chemical weapons and has twice missed the deadline for its destruction.

It is the Zionized US that is a true pariah. Time to sanction the gangster ZUSA regime and make the American citizenry clean the Zionized Augean Stables of the US Congress. Enough of Judeo-Nazi rule already.

    Replies: @Notsofast, @frankie p

Although this statement of yours is all true, you don’t really see the big picture, and you exaggerate the situation horribly. I should know, as I live in Taiwan, and I have lived here for over 30 years.

“Taking an island is one of them. Taiwan, with well over 20 million people could raise a million man army to defend their island. At some point you have to stop the bombardment and send your infantry in to kill the defenders in their pill boxes, tunnels and caves. Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions that would open up on any Chinese forces that get ashore.”

“Taiwan could raise a million man army.” So, where are they? Why, in the face of the YUGE threat from China, according to the American media anyway, haven’t the Taiwanese organized their reserves? That’s right, Taiwan has a huge reserve of so-called “soldiers” who have completed their mandatory military service who could be called up for service to defend “The Republic of China”. The problem is, these reservists have NO IDEA where to report in the case of belligerence. That’s right, they haven’t been informed where to report or what their duties will be. They have not undergone regular and routine training to be prepared for WAR. In other words, when the SHTF, there will be total chaos. Next, I mentioned that these “soldiers” who completed their mandatory military service could be called up as reservists, but I didn’t mention the length of their mandatory military service. Young men in Taiwan used to serve for TWO YEARS in the military; in my view, that’s a reasonable amount of time to receive some significant military training. The problem is that 15 or 20 years ago they began shortening the service time, and for the past years young men have been required to serve FOUR MONTHS only. What kind of “soldiers” do you think they are?

“…send your infantry in to kill the defenders in their pill boxes, tunnels and caves” I went exploring the pill boxes, tunnels and caves here in Southern Taiwan. They were all built by the Japanese. “Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions…” UTTER NONSENSE.

Now let’s talk honestly about how a Chinese attack would manifest. First, there would be no storming of the beaches. Your statement: “At some point you have to stop the bombardment and send your infantry in to kill the defenders”, is true, if there are actually defenders who have the stomach to continue to the fight and believe that they have a fighting chance to win. At the same time, missiles would pound military bases, airfields, ports, etc, hampering Taiwan’s ability to put planes in the air and ships and boats at sea. Civilian infrastructure would not be attacked. At this point, negotiations for surrender would begin.

I hope that this scenario never plays out, and I’m sure that if it does, it will be the result of US provocation.

The above quote is better translated as 'I/they hope Russia is going to be decisively beaten."

Quién sabe? Maybe they will be proven correct. Remember their prediction!

I offer no prediction of the future, but make observations from recent recordable History.

    By the numbers:

    1. The Russians have saved Syria, and blocked (at least for now) the Zionist expansionist goal of "Eretz Israel."

    2. They have saved Venezuela, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Iran, even Iraq. They even saved the Ruble!

    3. In 2022, the Russian people are in the process of Saving Themselves. Imperialist Nukes and Tanks on their borders are no longer being tolerated. They are much further along in this difficult process of National Recovery, than we Americans. We are slaves in our occupied and puppeted country. Our citizenry have lost all sense of manhood. They have forgotten that Freedom is not Free! It must be paid for!

From the MOSSAD/CIA/MI6 assassination of our last Constitutional President, John F. Kennedy, in their Coup D'état of 11/22/1963, Assassinations followed by that of Robert Kennedy, M L King, Malcolm X, the musical Lennon, and many more, to the 30 years of Shadow Government of Ehud Barak, Maxwell, & Epstein, to the butcheries of the Liberty, 9/11, and the Planneddemic. Do I need a verb?

The Russian's difficult road forward will be marked by great sacrifices, as they slowly, and against great opposition (they confront an American taxpayer financed and Zionist trained army of 600,000 - the 2nd largest army in Europe), fight toward Berlin, once again.

Missing in this 3rd European hosted World War, is the presence of Great Americans. The days of Eugene Debs, Mark Twain, Jefferson, Tom Paine, Walden & Hawthorn,& Hemingway, have long passed. Where are our Sons (or daughters), of Liberty, our Minutemen?

I am reminded of a portion of a poem: " But where can we draw water"
    said Pearse to Connoly,
"When all the wells are parched away?
O plain as plain can be
There's nothing but our own red blood
Can make a right rose tree."

you're kind of stuck in a ww2 mindset. just because ukraine is being prosecuted in a conventional manner doesn't mean we're seeing the most advanced weapons available. half the reason they engineered this war was to get the russians to show their hand (which they will not do). the other half was to destroy and replace the old soviet equipment in eastblock nato countries, getting russia to burn up her arsenal on the antiquated junk they're sending the ukranazis. the chinese might want to send some pilots to see what they can expect in the way of manpads and drones. i'm sure the u.s. has well stocked ratnests in taiwan just like ukraine and i'm sure the chinese have gained valuable insights, for if the u.s. is able to succeed with their wars of dirty tricks, you can be sure this pattern will be repeated in taiwan.

if the chinese went into taiwan we might start to see some new tech, you'll notice that taiwan has had some problems keeping their jets in the air, losing a few f16s into the drink lately, japan too, losing a f35 that fell right into the water. now this might just be caused by inferior design or outdated, overworked equipment but functional e.m.p. weapons, would be as big of a game changer as the development of air power in the previous century.

Enough discussing anything with you. You have comic book mind so I suspect you are either very young, very stupid or both. EMP weapons, Russia hiding its technology. Next you’ll be telling us about Photon torpedos or phasers set on stun.

Somethings don’t change. Taking an island is one of them. Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions that would open up on any Chinese forces that get ashore. We studied the problem in 1945 and said no thanks, we’ll bypass this porcupine.

    @Unit472

Does Russia have experience in dealing with this (below). It seems very, very difficult.

Mikhail Mizintsev, the head of the National Defense Control Center of Russia, said that the Kiev regime is preparing a provocation with staged filming in Irpen in the vicinity of the Ukrainian capital in order to blame Moscow.

For this purpose, a curfew and a complete blockade of the city are being imposed there. At the same time, only representatives of law enforcement agencies and “incomprehensible” volunteers will be allowed to enter during this period.”

Mizintsev also said that nationalists are deploying heavy weapons in densely populated neighborhoods of Kharkiv. Positions are equipped in residential buildings, kindergartens and schools.

At the same time, evacuation from the city is prohibited from April 10. Nationalists go to private homes and forcibly seize food, valuables and cars from people.

Relax dude, the Russians are always slow to get moving. In WW2 it took like 5 million being captured by Hitler before the rest decided to forget about the vodka and start fighting proper Russian style, which means slow grind attrition warfare.

In Chechnya the first Russian recruits who surrendered all got their throats cut on video and only thereafter did the surviving Russians start doing the grinding, attrition job properly.

So now in Ukraine it looks like most of the Russian troops went in thinking it was just a drive in their armored vehicles through different scenery. Some surrendered and got their throats cut, literally and figuratively, and now the survivors are going to exterminate the enemy and won't stop until the job is done.

So the initial hiccups are part and parcel of the Russian character, just like the Red Army steamroller is just unstoppable once its get going. The damn steamroller takes to much warming up to get going though. But once you see the Russians starting to use their flamethrowers you know they mean business, which is exactly what is happening in Eastern Ukraine now.

  • Even if one concedes that Russia was treated disrespectfully regarding the expansion of NATO and in other geopolitical moves by the West, there was no reason for it to send an army crashing into Ukraine, with all the killing and destruction that brings.

But what about the military threat of Ukraine, the Russia backers will say – NATO potentially arming Ukraine with missiles that can hit Moscow? To begin with, it’s become clear that NATO was not going to invite Ukraine any time soon. Secondly, what if NATO missiles were put in Ukraine? Yes, they might be able to hit Russia faster than OTHER missiles NATO has, but is it really worth starting a war and killing a bunch of Ukrainians over missiles that – in an apocalyptic scenario – would hit Moscow 15 minutes sooner than ones not in Ukraine? In the insanity of an all-out war with the NATO vs. Russia, it’s a big deal if Russians live 15 minutes longer because the missiles that hit them were farther away to start with?

For people who DO want Russia to remain an independent country, Putin seems to have given the war party/neocons a big gift. Namely, the excuse to keep sanctions on and keep isolating and making a pariah of Russia. Want to bring Russia back into the fold of civilized nations? NO, will say the neocons – remember Ukraine! Russia must remain a pariah as long as Putin stays in power! The argument may be made that the sanctions regime was always going to be the case, because the neocons want Putin gone, IAC. But the Ukraine invasion is the most ammo that the war party has ever been gifted. Putin may be at 80% in polling now, but where will he be in 1 0r 2 years if his economic planning isn’t any better than his military planning? Plus, it’s doubtful that the average Russian likes Putin having made Russians into pariahs in the eyes of the Western masses. Putin should cut his losses, asap.

    https://news.cgtn.com/news/2022-03-31/The-untold-secrets-of-America-s-biolabs-in-Ukraine--18QlXvmuNa0/index.html

...according to the research from U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has so far invested over $200 million ... to collaborate with Ukraine on these labs. A U.S.-Ukraine agreement signed in 2005 also clearly stipulates that DoD representatives have the right to participate in related activities at facilities in Ukraine and the Ukrainian side shall store all dangerous pathogens at these labs, share relevant data with the U.S., transfer to the U.S. pathogen strains, and withhold from public disclosure of information designated by the U.S. as "sensitive." [Why? - The Ziocons insist that this is a healthcare-related program]

After all, a drone can catch you at your most vulnerable, and a quarter of Russians don’t have an inside toilet. The Russians are totally helpless, like ants being fried with a magnifying glass.

Russia's lack of an industrial base seems to be a major problem- again. It got around that in WW2 with US/UK lend lease equipment who put the motors in all those Soviet ''motorized" rifle divisions but the problem seems even more acute today.

Russia has competent design bureaus and engineers but the ability to manufacture modern weaponry in anything like the numbers required can be turned off via western sanctions. If your missiles and avionics depend on imported parts you are left with a few bespoke weapon systems you have to hoard not use less you run out and can produce no more.

Maybe China will step up and produce the microchips and sensors Russia needs but cannot itself make. Problem is that is not a solution for the immediate need for more drones, precision guided munitions etc that Russia's army needs RIGHT NOW in its fight with Ukrainian forces.

    Replies: @Notsofast, @haha

Are you trolling or are you plain ignorant and brainwashed? Do you seriously believe that “It got around that in WW2 with US/UK lend lease equipment who put the motors in all those Soviet…”?
Please read any standard military history of WW2. The Wehrmacht was taken aback at the quality and quantity of tanks and artillery that the USSR could produce. By 1943 the USSR was outproducing the Germans in tanks and artillery and warplanes and just about everything. The Germans got the shit beaten out of them by superior and more numerous Soviet equipment and the bravery of the red army.
Maybe you want to live in la la Rambo land of Hollywood. But if you care to find out the truth, watch many of the numerous WW2 analyses on Youtube delivered by senior American military officers and historians. Just search “T-34 tank” on Youtube or Google and take it up from there.

Statement from Russian commander on scene stated first objective would be to identify entry points to the tunnels and then perhaps pump in tear gas to get the “moles out of their holes†as he described them. Hence the disinformation from MSM in the west that Russians plan to use sarin gas … a lie. Flooding could be an additional tactic. The commander also stated they do not want an all out assault as it would lead to many casualties on the Russian side. No need to take that approach.

You really are something. "Just go grab Taiwan" eh?.

I've gone through this before but lets do it again. In early 1945 the US was going to just ''go grab Taiwan''. American planners said we would have to land 12 divisions of soldiers to do it. That is almost a D-Day sized force only you are crossing open ocean to reach the invasion beaches not the English Channel. Navy said, wait a minute and Okinawa was substituted. It would ONLY require landing 7 divisions. On April 1, 1945 the biggest battle of the Pacific War kicked off when a HUGE American fleet landed on Okinawa. 82 days later the Japanese were wiped out and the island taken. For 82 days the US Navy had to anchor offshore to resupply the US soldiers ashore. The Japanese had thousands of first generation precision guided munitions called Kamikazes to attack those ships. They used them and sank or torched over 50 of them. Some 15,ooo US sailors and soldiers died ''grabbing Okinawa''.

The US had been conducting continuous amphibious operations for 3 years. We knew how to do it. We had built the specialized boats and ships to move men and equipment from the ships to the shore. We had total air and sea supremacy. China has never conducted a major amphibious assault. Not one and you think they can just sally forth from their ports and ''Grab Taiwan''?

    Replies: @Notsofast

you’re kind of stuck in a ww2 mindset. just because ukraine is being prosecuted in a conventional manner doesn’t mean we’re seeing the most advanced weapons available. half the reason they engineered this war was to get the russians to show their hand (which they will not do). the other half was to destroy and replace the old soviet equipment in eastblock nato countries, getting russia to burn up her arsenal on the antiquated junk they’re sending the ukranazis. the chinese might want to send some pilots to see what they can expect in the way of manpads and drones. i’m sure the u.s. has well stocked ratnests in taiwan just like ukraine and i’m sure the chinese have gained valuable insights, for if the u.s. is able to succeed with their wars of dirty tricks, you can be sure this pattern will be repeated in taiwan.

if the chinese went into taiwan we might start to see some new tech, you’ll notice that taiwan has had some problems keeping their jets in the air, losing a few f16s into the drink lately, japan too, losing a f35 that fell right into the water. now this might just be caused by inferior design or outdated, overworked equipment but functional e.m.p. weapons, would be as big of a game changer as the development of air power in the previous century.

Enough discussing anything with you. You have comic book mind so I suspect you are either very young, very stupid or both. EMP weapons, Russia hiding its technology. Next you'll be telling us about Photon torpedos or phasers set on stun.

Somethings don't change. Taking an island is one of them. Taiwan has had 75 years to honeycomb them with tunnels and gun positions that would open up on any Chinese forces that get ashore. We studied the problem in 1945 and said no thanks, we'll bypass this porcupine.

My favorite flavor; I support Republican forms of Government, with their Separation of Powers & provision for periodic Elections.

When (2000), I ran for the State House in PA: 131st district, I declared my support for the Jeffersonian - Constitutional Republic form of Political Culture. I had declared myself an Anarchist (and won the contested Democrat Gang Primary). I lost to my Republican opponent (outspent $40,000 to $2,000), but held the Democrat base & received 40% of the votes.

Russia has not been competitive in military science or technology since the 80s, and their being unable to combat drones was famously well demonstrated long before the invasion

While most countries struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic, the civil wars in Syria and Libya have become battlegrounds for foreign states … but not all the weapons have performed as claimed. Perhaps the most startling example of this is how ineffective modern Russian air defense systems have been at countering drones and low-flying missiles. In the face-off between expensive air defensive systems and lower cost offensive drones and low-flying missiles, the offense is winning.

In 2020 the much vaunted Russian anti-drone system Repellent (supposedly able to create a 30 km bubble that no enemy drone could fly into) was was not only ineffective one was destroyed in Armenia by a low tech Turkish drone Over a score of Pantsir air defense systems (also supposedly deadly to drones) were destroyed by Turkish drones in Syria and Lybia. Mearsheimer has cited Ukraine getting those Turkish drones the other year as a major reason for Putin deciding he had to invade. After all, a drone can catch you at your most vulnerable, and a quarter of Russians don’t have an inside toilet. The Russians are totally helpless, like ants being fried with a magnifying glass.

Once cut off from innovations that Russia cannot produce it is going to become technologically dependent on China within a generation. China is the great winner in all this, and it will also get Russian women as surrogate mothers in the way thousands of Ukrainian females already are for Chinese couples. China was already heavily involved in infrastructure projects in Ukraine before the war, and you can bet the rebuilding will involve them a lot.

I’ve gone through this before but lets do it again. In early 1945 the US was going to just ”go grab Taiwan”. Some 15,ooo US sailors and soldiers died ”grabbing Okinawa”.

The US had been conducting continuous amphibious operations for 3 years. We knew how to do it. We had built the specialized boats and ships to move men and equipment from the ships to the shore. We had total air and sea supremacy. China has never conducted a major amphibious assault. Not one and you think they can just sally forth from their ports and ”Grab Taiwan”?

you're kind of stuck in a ww2 mindset. just because ukraine is being prosecuted in a conventional manner doesn't mean we're seeing the most advanced weapons available. half the reason they engineered this war was to get the russians to show their hand (which they will not do). the other half was to destroy and replace the old soviet equipment in eastblock nato countries, getting russia to burn up her arsenal on the antiquated junk they're sending the ukranazis. the chinese might want to send some pilots to see what they can expect in the way of manpads and drones. i'm sure the u.s. has well stocked ratnests in taiwan just like ukraine and i'm sure the chinese have gained valuable insights, for if the u.s. is able to succeed with their wars of dirty tricks, you can be sure this pattern will be repeated in taiwan.

if the chinese went into taiwan we might start to see some new tech, you'll notice that taiwan has had some problems keeping their jets in the air, losing a few f16s into the drink lately, japan too, losing a f35 that fell right into the water. now this might just be caused by inferior design or outdated, overworked equipment but functional e.m.p. weapons, would be as big of a game changer as the development of air power in the previous century.

    Replies: @Sean, @Pop Warner

In WW2 it took like 5 million being captured by Hitler before the rest decided to forget about the vodka and start fighting proper Russian style,

They got half a million American trucks, plus much else and while it is true the Russians were slow in the cases everyone thinks about they were fighting inside Russia and were not fighting alone. Time is not on Russia’s side because they have not mobilized and Ukraine has. They would be better off starting the ground attack immediately and calling up the reserves too. As it is the Ukrainian military have more troops to draw on and their equipment, much of which is better, is pilling up by the week Europe is emptying it war stocks of all these sophisticated weapons.

They are not actual ‘flamethrower’s they are fuel air rocket munitions with a relatively short range and will be no use in open steppe.

    •ï¿½Replies: @gT
    @Sean

Mobilize? Mobilize! Good grief man, this is not WW1. Then those who mobilized the quickest had the advantage. This is not war, this is a "Special Military Operation", so no need for Russia to mobilize. Even if NATO was to get involved in Ukraine there still won't be a need to mobilize, a few cruise missiles would send Nato packing to where they came from.

So in this "Special Military Operation" Russia can take its time. The best of Ukraine's army is stuck in cauldrons in the East, with no hope of resupply from the West of Ukraine. Ukraine needs tanks and fuel to fight Russia, none of which can travel the few hundred kilometers to the East without getting destroyed by the RuAF in the skies above. All the other fancy weaponry the West is sending to Ukraine won't make a difference. So all the Russian generals need to do is sit in some hotel and "supervise" the artillery while knocking back the vodka. The Ukies stuck in the cauldrons have next to no armored vehicles or fuel left, so they can't leave. The artillery will finish them off.

Its like shooting fish in a barrel for the Russians in the East now, and the barrel is just going to get smaller. Bye bye Ukie fish. As they used to say in the A-Team "I like it when a plan comes together".

Any genuine Russian restoration will have to involve the restoration of the prestige of the military — its reintegration into political life and it’s re-elevation within civil society.

As if though those extravagant military displays and long parades that Russia stages in central Moscow on May 9th have not already been conspicuously excessive, especially considering that Russia has not even been threatened by a potential invasion anyway. An even more elaborate military organization is going to be costly, so inevitably the additional resources for such an endeavor would have to be extracted from the people’s meager pockets.

Establishing a militaristic society is a prescription for a hard-core totalitarian fascist control state in the future and would constitute an even greater aggressive threat to European countries, which will be compelled to enhance their defensive preparedness. A reasonable initial response would be to get rid of those numerous female ministers of defense across Europe, petty bureaucrats and political hacks who lack military experience or education.

Some surrendered and got their throats cut, literally and figuratively, and now the survivors are going to exterminate the enemy and won’t stop until the job is done.

That was also the thinking of the German High Command in WWI, but it turned out that that machine never got moving at all and resulted not just in defeat on the front lines but chaos and insurrection at home. Don't assume that it'll all just work out in a month's time, it could cost Russia the war and Putin his regime. Get going now instead of rolling the dice on the future.

Slavsky has an analysis of Russian society that deserves the respect of perusing. The first bunch of commentators are united by one common denominator, Hatred of Russia, (or better expressed as worship of the Zionist American British Imperialist Oligarchs).

The above quote is better translated as ‘I/they hope Russia is going to be decisively beaten.”

Quién sabe? Maybe they will be proven correct. Remember their prediction!

I offer no prediction of the future, but make observations from recent recordable History.

    By the numbers:

    1. The Russians have saved Syria, and blocked (at least for now) the Zionist expansionist goal of “Eretz Israel.”

Kennedy, in their Coup D’état of 11/22/1963, Assassinations followed by that of Robert Kennedy, M L King, Malcolm X, the musical Lennon, and many more, to the 30 years of Shadow Government of Ehud Barak, Maxwell, & Epstein, to the butcheries of the Liberty, 9/11, and the Planneddemic. Do I need a verb?

The Russian’s difficult road forward will be marked by great sacrifices, as they slowly, and against great opposition (they confront an American taxpayer financed and Zionist trained army of 600,000 – the 2nd largest army in Europe), fight toward Berlin, once again.

I am reminded of a portion of a poem: ” But where can we draw water”
    said Pearse to Connoly,
“When all the wells are parched away?
O plain as plain can be
There’s nothing but our own red blood
Can make a right rose tree.”

Russia has not been competitive in military science or technology since the 80s, and their being unable to combat drones was famously well demonstrated long before the invasion

While most countries struggle with the COVID-19 pandemic, the civil wars in Syria and Libya have become battlegrounds for foreign states ... but not all the weapons have performed as claimed. Perhaps the most startling example of this is how ineffective modern Russian air defense systems have been at countering drones and low-flying missiles. In the face-off between expensive air defensive systems and lower cost offensive drones and low-flying missiles, the offense is winning

Russia will go her own way, her destiny will not be found in this edifice of rot (i.e., western colleagues and partners'). She stands on the shoulders of great art, great achievement, great sacrifice. Hers is the existential struggle, for her humanity, and maybe the world. This is why her young men are dying.
In Russia's case, she can topple Societe Generale, and watch the dominoes fall, what's to lose? It will wreck China, too, but Russia's in the batter's box, China's on deck.

    "Europe+USA will cover Ukraine’s needs..."

-- Europe+USA "have been covering" Ukraine's needs for eight years, making it into the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe. By the way, the USA did the "cover" on the highest level by sending the crackhead Hunter Biden himself to "improve" Ukraine. He has got a nice gesheft there, for the ordinary Ukrainians' expense.

The Judeo-Nazi have their own long-term interest in "covering" and converting Ukraine into a "promised land." This is why an Israeli citizen Kolomojsky funded and financed the self-proclaimed Nazi Azov Battalion, whereas Ziocon Nuland-Kagan did her best to charm and purchase the so-called White Fuhrers (they happened to be very cheap).

Mr. Ze, of homoerotic persuasion, and Mr. Blinken (of Epstein connections) have also been very handy at "covering Ukraine’s needs" by arranging Ukrainian men into cannon fodder for the Judea's war on Russia. Mazel Tov!

    Or failure.

The ONLY way to succeed in the offensive is to mobilize the full resources of the RF. Get that, crucial, significant, overmatch in MEN and material.
Execute the proper attrition warfare, of the Russian type, against the Joint Forces Operation troops.

That requires at least 100 000 new troops as “teeth” and full war organization of European part of RF as “tail”.

The cabal in Kremlin won’t do it. Hence, it will not work. It will be, in a several weeks to come, slow, grinding mess and, then, the stalemate. Not much different from what we have now on the ground.

No prob, of course. If anything, the Scamdemic has taught us that the serfs anywhere will get their reality from TPBTs. Putin and his kleptorcrats will sell the ..ahm…victory…with ease.

I am both amused and sickened by the spectacle of the pundit Generals populating the cable news channels. They offer a harsh, delusional criticism of Russia’s lack of progress on the ground in Ukraine without conceding their own failures to pacify Iraq and Afghanistan. Notwithstanding an 800 billion dollar defense budget, the U.S. military failed to defeat the Taliban and failed to secure Iraq. Spending lots of money does not guarantee military success. And the good Lord knows we spent a ton. To what end?
