Why is it so hard for some to believe that the government would lie about hispanic crime and negative influences, especially someone who believes that the government lies about so many other things? I’m not even sure that you can compare whites and hispanics statistically, since we have no idea what the sample size of hispanics really is, who many hispanics really are, and hispanics have a no snitch culture, whereas whites are a known quantity, with known identities and a culture that encourages ratting one another out. Thanks for the reply; I live and learn. I quite agree, too, about the intellectual poverty of the American right. Even in the seventies, most of what it produced was a waste of paper. Whether read here or at The Occidental Observer, this is an excellent article by a woman who has been smart enough to learn a thing or two from some very unpleasant experiences. (Can the same be said for a plurality of the Unz columnists or the bulk of the commenters?) Yet anyone who began reading this page at Comment no. 1 would get quite the contrary impression.

It borders on the remarkable that Ron Unz himself hijacks the comment thread from the outset, primarily to insist that he is ever so much more observant, let alone cleverer, than poor dumb Liv Heide. What little argument he gets from other commenters isn’t hardy enough to withstand a stiff autumn breeze, and few (among them perhaps Pop Warner) seem to care that Ron’s aim is plainly to shift the conversation to him and his anecdotes, which he seems to assume that everyone will grant are ipso facto ever so much more valuable, not to overlook readable, than Ms. Heide’s. His offhand but very revealing dismissal of Ms. Heide as “already in the European quasi-WN camp” solely because she thinks white girls should date white guys tells me that he has less in common with hundreds of millions of normal white folks than he does with Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and their families.

I wish that I could suggest that readers who are interested in better comments than they will find here make their way to TOO instead, but alas, things are pretty bad there, too, albeit in a different way. That comment thread and several others there have been similarly hijacked, but in TOO‘s case by a Hasbara Harry, controlled opposition–type, who has disguised himself as multiple arbiters of all legitimate opinions on the JQ and attacks any and all hard-core criticism as boorish and distasteful. What’s especially interesting, as I just implied, is that he has adopted four separate identities* to push his trolling! Even though his scam is transparent, he is clearly getting clandestine support in his subversion from at least one Moderator or someone else on the inside.

What to say?

Ron, while I am a fan, this statement baffles me. European Jews are much more likely to be informed by the NYT or most any other source than rightwing websites.

There are always exceptions to stereotypes. Some prominent Jew athletes were Mark Spitz, Hank Greenberg, Joe Choynski ( a fighter who actually bested Jack Johnson) just to name a few, were all over 6′ tall. A lesser name, a baseball player named Mike Epstein who started his career with the old Washington Senators was nicknamed “Super Jew,” stood 6’3.5 inches tall and weighed about 230lbs. Epstein ALLEGEDLY knocked out Reggie Jackson while both were playing for the Oakland A’s in a locker brawl. Lyle Alzado was half Italian and half Jewish and was yet another 6’3″ guy, and Italians like Jews are known for being on the short side. But alas there are always exceptions.
