New position for a research project in collaboration with Prof. Manfred Grohmann (emeritus): The position is initially limited to 21 months as part of the research project "Industrially usable, sustainable and reusable formwork for the realization of doubly-curved precast concrete elements for energy-efficient, resource-efficient and climate-friendly construction" funded by the "Zukunft Bau" research initiative.
We will investigate additive and subtractive design and fabrication methods using reusable sand formwork. The opportunity for promotion is given.

We are looking for an Architect, Construction Engineer, Civil Engineer or Mechanical Engineer with a maximum of two years of professional experience to work in complex modelling project using NURBS geometry, meshes, and cloud of points. MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY is looking for a full-time junior architect with a strong focus on computation and complex geometry.
Following a series of new projects, MARC FORNES/THEVERYMANY is seeking two applicants for full-time design positions in their studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn, New York.
MARC FORNES/THEVERYMANY specializes in site-specific art and architecture, exploring the intersection of spatial experience and ultra-thin lightweight structures. Their method is deeply rooted in computational research and digital fabrication. They are currently working on projects across the US (Florida, Texas, North Carolina, California), Canada, China, and Taiwan. More information about the studio can be found at theverymany.com.
Successful candidates will be involved in advanced 3D modeling in Rhino, development of custom computational strategies, the creation of 2D documentation, rigorous material research, and testing of large-scale physical assemblies. Candidates should be collaborative yet self-directed, and capable of working under tight deadlines. Bachelor or Masters of Architecture required. Fluency in written and spoken English is required and knowledge of French is a plus. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

The Advanced Architecture Laboratory at Singapore University of Technology and Design is looking for a researcher. The researcher will support software development in Grasshopper for an exciting project that combines architectural design, mathematical optimization, and multivariate visualization. The project aims to develop optimization and design space exploration tools for architectural designers that are more intuitive and efficient than existing ones.
The position entails GUI development, visualization tools, and interfaces between existing software components. Depending on the skills and interests of the candidate, a greater involvement with other components of the project (such as benchmarking, user testing, and publications) is possible. Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science and related disciplines, or in architectural design with proven programming skills.
- A Master's degree is preferred.

The group of Digital Timber Construction DTC at the faculty of architecture at TU Kaiserslautern is searching for a research assistant (50% TV-L 13). The position starts December, 2017, and includes the possibility of a PhD thesis.
The working group directed by Jun. Prof. Dr. Christopher Robeller is part of the research laboratory Timber Architecture and Engineered Wood Products T-Lab and operates at the intersection of architecture, civil engineering, computer science, and fabrication technology.
The group is focused on the development of novel digital tools, which automatically generate 3D building components and CNC fabrication data - while being aware of the constraints of assembly sequences, fabrication parameters, and material properties. This allows for the development of new building construction systems, where the details play a particularly important role.
The working environment is a technical university, with equipment of the T-Lab (including a new 5-axis CNC machining center) and an exchange with industry partners.
Requirements
A passion for digital timber construction, as well as a Diploma or Master in architecture, civil engineering, or computer science. Useful skills include CAD (Rhino), programming (C#, Python, C++) and experience with CNC machines and robots.
Tasks
Tasks include the work on research projects and research funding applications, as well as the participation in teaching activities. The position is initially limited to one year and should be extended afterward through successful funding applications.
