The late Thomas M. Golden (1947-2010) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He joined the court in 2006 after being nominated by President George W. Bush and served it until his death on July 31, 2010.

Early life and education

Born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Golden graduated from Pennsylvania State University with his bachelor's degree in 1969 and later from the Dickinson School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree in 1972.

Career

Golden was a private practice attorney in the State of Pennsylvania from 1972 to 2006.

Federal judicial career

On the recommendation of U.S. Senators Rick Santorum and Arlen Specter Golden was nominated to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania by President George W. Bush on January 25, 2006 to a seat vacated by Franklin Van Antwerpen. Golden was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on May 4, 2006 on a Senate vote and received commission on June 13, 2006.
