Carol Sandra Moore Wells is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was appointed as a federal magistrate judge on June 3, 1996, and was re-appointed in 2004, 2012, and 2020.

Education

Judge Wells received her J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1985.

Career

Prior to receiving her law degree, Wells was a founder and teacher of the Lotus Academy from 1978 to 1984. She also served as a law clerk and office manager at Nichols, Nichols, Clark & New Kirk during this time. Wells became an associate attorney at the firm Pincus, Verlin, Hahn & Reich, P.C. in 1985. From 1987 to 1996, she worked as an Assistant City Solicitor, Deputy City Solicitor, and then Senior Attorney for the City of Philadelphia. She became a magistrate judge in 1996.
