Richard Peters was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Pennsylvania. He was nominated by President George Washington on January 12, 1792.[1] He was confirmed by the Senate on January 13, 1792, and received commission on January 12, 1792. He was reassigned April 20, 1818.

Richard Peters was reassigned on April 20, 1818 to become a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He served until his death on August 22, 1828. Peters was succeeded in this position by Joseph Hopkinson.
