Kathleen Cardone is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. She joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.

Early life and education

Born in Medina, New York, Cardone graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with her bachelor's degree in 1976 and from St. Mary's University School of Law with her J.D. in 1979.[1]

Cardone was nominated to the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas by President George W. Bush on May 1, 2003, to a new seat created by 116 Stat. 1758. The American Bar Association rated Cardone Substantial Majority Well Qualified, Minority Qualified for the nomination. Hearings on Cardone's nomination were held before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 9, 2003, and her nomination was reported by U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) on July 17, 2003. Cardone was confirmed on a voice vote of the U.S. Senate on July 28, 2003, and she received her commission the next day.[1][2][3]
