Oliver Deveta Hamlin, Jr. (1892-1973) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

Judicial career

Northern District of California

Hamlin was nominated by President Dwight Eisenhower on July 23, 1953, to a seat vacated by Monroe Friedman; he was confirmed by the Senate on August 1, 1953, and received his commission on August 3, 1953. He served the Northern District of California until he was elevated to the Ninth Circuit on April 15, 1958.[1] Hamlin was succeeded in this position by Lloyd Burke.

Ninth Circuit

Hamlin was nominated to the Ninth Circuit by President Dwight Eisenhower on March 6, 1958, to a seat vacated by William Denman; he was confirmed by the Senate on March 25, 1958, and received his commission on March 26th. He assumed senior status on September 5, 1963. He served the Ninth Circuit until his death on December 28, 1973.[1]
