GULAYAN SA PAARALAN
NARRATIVE REPORT
S.Y. 2021-2022
Last September 15, 2021, the GPP coordinator had implemented a school based Moringa
planting on the Gulayan sa Paaralan of Lindaban Elementary School through the help of scouts,
parents, and scouters. They had planted for about 30 branches of moringa plant. There were 23
participants of the said planting activity.
Last December 2021, the GPP coordinator had already made a GPP Plan to reconstruct the
Gulayan sa Paaralan. He had oriented the teachers for the incoming reconstruction. He had
assigned already the teachers to their area to till and plant their vegetables. Due to a pandemic
and restrictions because of the increasing rate of covid patients in the barangay, the restrictions on
some activities in the area had been RESTRICTED.
The coordinator was still motivated to reconstruct the Gulayan sa Paaralan. The incoming
face to face could be a great help for the reconstructions because we could now call some parents
and children to till their garden plots as a part of their EPP/TLE subject activity.

Last May 2023, the Department of Education hereby informed the changes of the name Supreme
Pupil and Supreme Student Government (SPG/SSG) to Supreme Elementary and Supreme Secondary
Learner Government (SELG/SSLG) including its Constitution and By-Laws and conduct of elections, among
other things. The Lindaban Elementary School has applied the changes of the name, constitutions and by
laws according to DM NO. 188, S. 2023, an interim guidelines for the SELG.
The SELG of Lindaban Elementary School had been very active to all activities of the school
throughout the school year. They had produce a set of new recycled garbage bin using a recycled one
gallon mineral water bottle to support garbage segregation. It was a very brilliant idea because until now, it
is still usable. It was a great help segregating the garbage thrown by the elementary learners.
Last October 5, 2023, the SELG had facilitated a teacher’s day celebration with theme: “A Teacher
takes a HAND, opens a MIND, and touches a HEART”. The SELG officers had facilitated a short program to
recognize the heroism of the teachers. All learners of the school from kindergarten to higher grades made
a short messages and letters with gifts for their teachers as a sign of their love, respect and gratitude on
their teachers. There were also games for the teachers facilitated by Doctor Rollen B. Sumo-oy, a Senior
Education Program Specialist of Deped Bukidnon. The teachers were very enjoyed on their one-day rest
and celebration.
Additionally, the SELG of Lindaban Elementary School has been also actively indulged by leading the
Valentine’s Day Program in our school. They made a photo booth with a heart design and also facilitated a
program like ‘shout out messages’ in the campus to spice up the whole heart’s day. The learners and the
school faculties were very glad with the program.
Recently on the month of April 2024, the school had received a new memorandum and guidelines
for the election of the new set of SELG officers for the next school year 2024-2025. On May 6, the SELG
adviser, Manuel P. Nibreda Jr, a grade 5 teacher, had facilitated the formation of the party list for the next
SELG officers. There were only two party list had been formed, the STAR AND LOVE Party list. On the next
day, there had a campaign of the two party list. They had campaigned themselves from grade 2 pupils up
to grade 5. After the campaign, the election of officers had been done. The learners of school from grade 2
to grade 5 had chosen their new SELG officers. The election was very well-accomplished and successful.
Last May 2024, ma’am Rubilyn B. Paiso, our school principal, had shared about the incoming
National Learning Camp 2024 to the teachers. She had also assigned the teachers whom will participated
the reading camp as reading teachers. There were four teachers assigned namely: Ma’am Racquel Cagay,
Sir Manuel Nibreda Jr., Sir Joseph Elvis Casinabe and Ma’am Marycris Canete.
The NLC had started on July 1 and ended on July 19, 2024. There was a parade at the beginning of
the opening program on the first day and many pupils of our school had attended the program together
with the teachers and our school principal. The opening was very successful.
On the whole three weeks of the NLC daily activities, the teachers were told that every Monday and
Friday would be a teacher’s preparation for the incoming teaching reading and numeracy activities for the
next three days ahead. Every Monday and Friday, we had our orientation and sharing of experiences,
thoughts and interventions done to enhance our teaching skills towards our pupils. The orientation and
sharing was headed by our school principal. The NLC teachers had lots of learnings after every sharing and
help them more skilled in teaching reading.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was our teaching days with our pupils. On the first week
of teaching reading, the teachers and the learners had an acquaintance activities to know the learners
reading and numeracy capabilities. After that, the teachers taught the intervention learners with the basic
reading such as identifying and learning on letter sounds, consonant + vowel letter blending, proper writing
of letters and learner’s names and basic number counting 1 to 50.
The teachers had done lots of activities that would improve the reading and numeracy skills of the
learners. We had a group activities, reading basic words and sightwords, individual activities, one-on-one
reading, peer teachings, answering worksheets, games and spelling activities and reading short and simple
stories. The learners were very active and eager to learn because they had learned a lot at school.
Generally, the whole NLC program in our school was very successful and fruitful. In my class, there
were 9 interventions, out of 9, only 2 learners remained intervention pupils and I had 3 consolidation
learners, out of 3, only 1 pupil remained as consolidation pupil. Most of the learners had become good and
fast readers.
