Madam:

Warmest Greetings!

2022 IN-SERVICE TRAINING (INSET) PROPOSAL

PLAN A – Face to Face
Theme: “Sustaining Teaching Excellence Amidst Pandemic”
I. BASIC INFORMATION
A. Proposal Title : School In- Service Training
B. Proponent : Lumangbayan National High School Facult
C. Budget Allocation : PhP 1, 000.00
D. Source of Funds : MOOE/Other Source of Funds
E. Target Dates : February 2-4, 2022
F. Training Venue : Lumangbayan National High School

II. Technical Information:

A. Rationale

Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 29, s. 2021, titled “School Calendar and
Activities for School Year 2021” particularly on its Section V paragraph 22,
Lumangbayan National High School will conduct School-based In-Service Training
(INSET) on February 2-4, 2022 which will be done through Limited Face to face (F2F)
following the Alert Level Guidelines stipulated in DepEd Task Force Covid-19
Memorandum No. 575 dated December 7, 2021.
Teachers, in particular, require in-service training as part of their professional
growth. It also serves as a tool for them to improve their knowledge of high-quality
teaching and learning. It enables teachers to quickly adjust to new problems and
changes in the classroom during this pandemic as we now in transition back to Face to
Face Learning Modality. Through this platform, planning will be conducted as we need
to set strategies and contingency plan for this implementation.
In-service training is a critical component of the school's ability to achieve its
goals and objectives. It's a way for the teachers to collaborate in recognizing the
school's requirements and determining what specific areas need to be improved, which

is a prerequisite for planning and implementing school programs. Teachers are

expected to fulfill their jobs properly and efficiently as a result of their training.
Based from the Professional Development Plan in Result-based Performance
Management System 2020-2021 of LNHS teachers, most of the teachers need
technical assistance in KRA 2: Diversity of Learners & Assessment and Reporting
mainly on using strategies for providing timely, accurate and constructive feedback to
improve learners’ performance. This is why this topic was chosen for the In-service
training at the halfway point of the year. Also, this is anchored to several theories and
studies conducted on the importance of giving feedback in students’ performances.
According to Black and William's (1998) article, assessment should be used in
all instructional situations to provide information to both the student and the teacher (or
other instructional agent) about how to enhance learning and teaching, with feedback
serving as the primary channel. Classroom assessment literature has been integrated
with learning theories such as self-regulated learning (Panadero et al., 2018), cognitive
load (Sweller et al., 1998), and control-value theory of achievement emotions in the two
decades since Black and William's publication (Goetz et.al, 2018; Pekrun, 2007).
Lee’ s research shows that, things being equal, high schools that offer a
“constrained curriculum” with more – and more challenging – academic courses and
fewer general-track, remedial, and elective courses have lower dropout rates (Jerald,
2006). Following this concept, we have selected a topic about the “Intervention
Strategies for Students at Risk of Dropping Out”. Speakers will discuss effective
remediation techniques to assist the students with further instructional needs.

B. Training Purpose/ Objective: The goal of the training is to start a process of

improvement in the school and its teachers, especially in terms of adapting to and
managing change in transition to back to limited face to face classes, becoming familiar
with different assessment strategies and feedback mechanism, new learning delivery
modalities, and effective interventions for learners who require more attention and
instruction.

Face-to-Face Implementation
