Narrative Report on Supreme Pupils’ Government Election of Officers S.Y. 2018-2019

FSS Patulo Elementary School always looks forward to developing its pupils into well-
equipped leaders in the service of their community. This is also every school’s goal and so the
Supreme Pupils’ Government or SPG has been formed. Another school year is about to end and it
means a brand new set of leaders-to-be will be elected for the coming school year. The FSS Patulo
Elementary School’s SPG, SPG adviser, AP Coordinator and the members of the COMELEC
prepared for the 2016 Election of SPG Officers.

Three participating parties filed their Certificates of Candidacies (COCs). These parties
were the SPIRAL, HEART, and SMATE. These parties showed their determination to serve and
support the school and its goals. After the filing of COC’s, their pertinent papers were evaluated
and the official list of the candidates were declared.

The anticipated moment came when the three parties went room to room to encourage their
co-schoolmates to vote and support their party. Each party prepared their yells and platforms. With
the help of their campaign managers, each party strategize how they could win the hearts of the
voters. Meanwhile, the SPG officers and the SPG-COMELEC prepared for the election
paraphernalia and made sure that everything will be ready for the Election Day.

A day before the election, pupils from different grade levels were gathered at the school’s
ground for the Presidential and Vice-Presidential debate. Together with the pupils and their
respective teachers, the candidates laid down their proposed plans for the betterment of the school
and the welfare of the school and the pupils. Some of the issues and matters of the school
community were discussed. There were also several questions given to the presidential and vice-
presidential candidates for them to answer accordingly. Some pupils were also given a chance to
ask questions and to clarify some issues.

The most awaited day came. All the pupils involved were excited to vote and support for
their bets. A successful and peaceful election at the school’s polling precincts was conducted.
Pupils from Grade 2-5 practiced their right to vote as they hold the power to elect responsible and
effective leaders for the school year 2019-2020 as well. The young pupils experienced how
elections were piloted. They shaded the circular shape beside the name of their candidates, casted
their votes and had their pointer fingers inked. The election ended without any difficulties.

After a few hours of tallying the votes, the new set of SPG officers were announced on that
same day. It was a nerve-racking moment not only for the candidates but for the pupils who showed
their support to their bet candidates. All of them were seen crossing their fingers, holding hands,
and praying for the results. The announcement of the results was chaired by our principal, Dr. Edna
T. Gomez.
Indeed as the former SPG officers pass the responsibility to the newly elected ones, the
purpose and the desired outcomes of the organization will not be decomposed. Truly, it is by
leadership and determination to serve even at this young age reflects the future leadership in the
country. The school head, teachers and pupils have great expectations to these leaders, counting
and believing that they have capability to lead. Believing that these officers have the hands to
create and minds to think, and most of all, hearts to serve everything will be possible for the next
school year.

B. Projects and Implementations

The project BAYANI innovation was implemented the whole year round in Grades
5 and 6. The AP Teachers of Grade 5 and 6 discussed one bayani per month using
powerpoint presentation and tarpapel. There was also a project BAYANI pretest
conducted last October 28. The goal of the pretest was to measure the knowledge
of the pupils about the local and national heroes. The posttest was held on February
23, 2019. It showed a significant change in the MPS compared to its result last
October 2018.
Meanwhile, AP teachers in Grade 3 and 4 continued the drill on Project ARAW or
A Region A Week. The bulletin board on Project ARAW was also accomplished
every month displaying the Region Map, Festivals, Products and other significant
detail about the assigned Region.

C. Seminar
Mrs. Jomica Maye J. Tuba-on, the Araling Panlipunan school coordinator attended
a seminar last November 27-29, 2018. The seminar taught them how to make
brochures, tarpapels, and powerpoint presentations effectively. Together with 3
other teachers in Marilao North District, they were able to accomplish their outputs
that can be used in the classroom. The AP Teachers of FSS Patulo ES were given
soft copies of these outputs.

Indeed, with continuous efforts of the school heads, teachers, pupils, and the supervisors,
productive and effective implementations will be accomplished.
