I finished watching Season 1 of Avatar: The Last Airbender…and what did I think? It’s pretty great, with a few flaws. For starters, the animation quality had a pretty inconsistent direction even though it was mostly amazing. Also, there were a few nothing episodes as well. But for the most part, this first season succeeds. A high 8 out of 10 in my opinion. Aang, Katara, and Sokka make for a great main trio as they all do their best to prove themselves even with a couple times they felt a little OOC in the 2nd half of the season. Aang feels like a great textbook protagonist and Katara was also amazing too. Sokka is also great, with his relatability and resourcefulness. And while I can’t make a full opinion on Zuko (yet), he’s still a great character and I felt for him as much as the main trio. The story could’ve fallen into filler overload, but it’s honed into amazing world-building. It’s a great start, but I can tell…it’ll only get even better from here.
…Also I wasn’t expecting the season 1 finale to be SO SAD! 😢
