I've seen everyone express their anger and rage at the system we are supposed to celebrate today. We're told that we have freedom, but we are only given rights when it's convenient for the people in power. We're told that there is justice, but our leaders have been the cause for suffering in many foreign countries, and for everyone in our country that isn't a white rich cisgender heterosexual man. We're told that we have democracy, but what is democracy when politicians are sold to the highest bigger, one party loudly wants to take rights away from the passes, and the other party will never do anything to give people those rights unless it would help their image?
Needless to say, we need change. And I promise you, this isn't one of those pessimistic "nothing will change" "America is cooked" posts that everyone else is doing, because I know that everyone wants change. Everyone wants a hero, but they're too afraid to become that hero themselves. To fight for change, because they don't think they can have an impact. Well, I'm posting this to say that you CAN have an impact, and WE THE PEOPLE are going to take back our nation from these sleazy corporate hacks that we call leaders!
In 2040, I plan to run for president when I'm eligible, but we cannot sit on our hands and wait for a miracle to happen for myself to get elected. We need to start laying the groundwork. Making connections. Getting involved. Doing everything we can to prepare. Getting therapy if needed. Becoming stronger. Whatever you need to do to become the best person you can to fight this fight, do it! And then, when we're ready, we will take back our nation bit by bit. First, the local offices. Then, the state offices. Then national Congress, then the presidency!
But remember, everyone. I cannot do this alone. No one can do this alone. The people need to unite if we are to succeed, and we must fight with everything we have - no matter what - no matter how hard they try to stop us!
So yeah, it might seem like we have no future right now. But this is the death knell for the status quo. We will bring about a better future! WE WILL BRING ABOUT HOPE! AND TOGETHER, WE WILL SUCCEED IN CHANGING THE WORLD ONCE AND FOR ALL!
