Review for The Making of Glover from Pico Interactive
Curiously there is absolutely ZERO documentation for this documentary online. And yet I have a Blu Ray of it sitting right here. It came packaged with the Glover 64 collectors edition released by Limited Run Games. It’s an interesting little documentary with some interesting stories from the Oliver twins who created the game but it’s just so strange that not a soul has mentioned this thing online. It’s not a particularly great documentary filmmaking wise. The core interview was done over zoom which was likely a product of the Covid 19 lockdowns but still weirdly unprofessional and there’s always borders around the interview and gameplay segments for god knows what reason. Also the background music was strange. Everything about this is strange but then again so is the company who currently own the Glover IP. I’m glad that they’ve allowed for Glover to be relevant once again but I just can’t understand half the decisions the small studio makes. Anyway I’m gonna be doing more personal research on this topic myself but I did want to log it here since it is still a film.
