So I’m starting to realize more and more just how unhappy I am with this account so I kinda wanna make some changes and announce them to you guys real quick.
1) Im probably going to remove quite a bit of the stuff I have watched/rated on here either because I haven’t seen them in forever or because it just doesn’t look “right” compared to what I normally watch and log on here since getting my account. I know this sounds kind of out of pocket but I’ve been getting anxious a little with how i view my account and I just want to clean it up a little to allow better expression of myself more.
2) I’m going to be changing my reviews for a while to be more focused on my emotional reactions to movies first. I’m starting to realize there’s a lot of stuff here that I have rated highly that I personally don’t care for and stuff rated low that I love. I want to have more room for personal experiences and expression on here to put a lot of stress off of me and just generally, hopefully make me happier with my write ups when I get to more analytical diving. Nothing will be lost really, I’m just being more honest and open with myself and you guys.
I think I have to be honest about something, I’ve been depressed the last few weeks. I’ve had a lot of anxiety flare-ups and I’m doubting myself and comparing myself to others that I see as “better” and it’s not really doing well on my mental. I’m realizing a part of that is when it comes to art and my engagement with it, I feel the need to live up to a standard and if I don’t live up to it I’m either wrong or just not important in my thoughts. I’m trying my best not to let that happen anymore, and I’m hoping that it’s going to at least help me get through some of this. I love you guys so much, I want to be more open and feel like an actual person with emotions with my writing and the discussions I have. I need to establish that transparency more than ever, I hope you all understand 🫂
