Many of you have found this profile through TikTok. Others locally through Letterboxd. If you’re in neither of those groups, then I’m not sure how you found me, but thanks for being here.
I’ve crossed 34,000 followers and just published Episode 100 of my podcast. In a million years, I never would have guessed people cared for what I thought (it’s possible that people still don’t and that’s cool too). Without getting too personal, I honestly thought it was too late for me. I missed my opportunity to pursue film criticism/reviews as a passion and would have to settle with a life I was largely unhappy with. Fortunately, I was wrong and I am deeply humbled every day by the people who have shown interest in my work.
This app, like an social media app, can be the best and worst place on the internet. But even in the heat of fervent disagreement, it’s a place that I’ve learned to love because it reminds me every day of how small I am. There’s always something I need to watch. Something I need to read. A constant reminder that we’re all endlessly learning— which I think is the best part about this place.
So again, thank you for changing my life. I am eternally grateful.
