The Raad Region 「ラート
Overview[]
Terrain and Ecology[]
The Raad Region is heavily forested with deciduous trees, and it is located close to mountains. The village within the region is built in a valley with a river passing through. The village's residents appear to plant colorful flowers and sell local crops, such as herbs, and the rivers are home to fish.
The Village[]
A large village is situated in the region with many houses, tarp-covered marketplace shops, and an inn. Most of the structures and paths of the village are built with stone and wood. The roofs of the buildings are covered in a variety of materials, including red clay tile and green or blue colored materials. The town also has a large clock tower with a blue roof over an archway. In the village square, there is a statue of Himmel the Hero.
Eighty years ago, during the Hero Party's journey, the town was very lively, with various bars and shopping stalls.[1] Since then, the village has expanded significantly, with new buildings erected on the opposite side of the main river that bisects the village. In the present day, Fern also notes the presence of many shops in the area.[1]
Synopsis[]
History[]
During the Hero Party's journey, the group passed through the village in the Raad Region. At some point, Himmel asked Frieren to go shopping with him, and she agreed. Later that day, Himmel offered to buy Frieren an accessory for successfully subjugating a monster. She chose a ring with a mirrored lotus design, which, unbeknownst to her, symbolized eternal love. Shortly thereafter, Himmel knelt on one knee and placed the ring on Frieren's left ring finger in front of the clock tower.
Travels to Äußerst Arc[]
While traveling to Äußerst, Frieren and her party arrive at the village in the Raad Region and stay at an inn. On Fern's birthday, Fern and Stark have a falling out due to Fern's belief that Stark had forgotten her birthday. Later, Sein buys Fern a bag with a butterfly design as a present. Shortly after, Fern and Stark reconcile, while Frieren and Sein watch them from the rooftop of a building. Stark spends three hours picking out an accessory for Fern, gauging her reaction to ensure she likes it. He eventually buys her a bracelet with a mirrored lotus motif.
Later, while they are traveling in the Bande Woods, Sein reveals that the mirrored lotus is known as a symbol of eternal love in the Raad Region.
