Synopsis[]
Travels to Äußerst Arc[]
Twenty-nine years after Himmel's passing, Frieren's Party travels through the Laub Hills. Sein complains about the lack of variety in the party, and the other members guess that adding someone with a thief class would be helpful. However, Sein reveals his complaints were about the lack of an older lady in the party. The party soon approaches a village, where they notice the villagers are all sleeping, which makes Frieren uncomfortable, and she expresses that she wants to leave quickly. As Sein examines the villagers, he identifies that they have been cursed. To dispel the curse, equipment would be needed, but the fastest way to dispel the curse is to eliminate its source. However, before leaving the village to approach the origin of the curse, Stark falls asleep.
They carry Stark with them, but Fern falls into slumber sometime later. Sein and Frieren proceed onward until Sein senses the presence of a monster. Hearing this, Frieren tells Sein to wake her when the monster appears. Sein, who is protected against the curse due to the Blessing of the Goddess,[1] is the last man standing when Frieren also succumbs to the curse. He proceeds to engage in a fight with the monster, a Chaos Flower that reflects his Three Spears of the Goddess magic. Having trouble against it, he decides to awaken Frieren, trusting in her words that she would defeat the monster. He uses an awakening spell to wake her for five seconds, and in that time, she proceeds to blast the monster with offense magic in the core, avoiding its reflective petals. After awakening from the curse, the villagers thank the party, and they proceed to head on their way further north.
