Synopsis[]

History[]

During their quest to subjugate the Demon King, the Hero Party passed through Graf Dach's Domain and met the great-grandfather of the current Graf Dach, who ruled at that time. The Graf tasked the party with recovering the family’s treasured heirloom sword, which once belonged to a notable demon. The Dach family, known for their assertiveness, often made unreasonable requests, as evidenced when the noble threatened the Hero Party with execution if they failed to return the sword. The party then had to travel back to the Schwer Mountains to recover it.[2] In return for their efforts, they were handsomely rewarded with money.[3]

Continued Northern Travels Arc[]

Twenty-nine years after the passing of Himmel the Hero, Frieren and her party pass through the largest town in Graf Dach’s Domain. Stark comments on how long it has been since they visited such a large settlement, while Frieren wishes to leave as soon as possible, much to the surprise of both Stark and Fern.

Shortly after, the party is invited to a banquet hosted by Graf Dach, which Frieren reluctantly agrees to attend. At the banquet, Graf Dach promptly requests their help in retrieving the family heirloom sword, which has been stolen by another demon, with Frieren noting that the same happened to his great-grandfather. Frieren agrees in exchange for a grimoire as a reward.

Frieren and her companions then search through a nearby forest and come across an abandoned village. There, they meet a priestess who claims to have buried the villagers killed by a demon. However, Frieren uncovers that the graves are empty, revealing the priestess as the demon who stole Graf Dach’s sword. The party swiftly defeats the demon. Afterwards, they pay their respects to the fallen villagers and offer prayers for them.

Upon their return to Graf Dach’s castle, they hand over the heirloom sword and claim their promised reward. As they leave the town, Stark asks Frieren about the spell in the grimoire, to which she replies that it teaches a spell to turn a red apple to a green apple.
