Frieren Wiki

This is the Image Policy for the Frieren Wiki. The following article contains information regarding guidelines for uploading images. These rules are subject to change without prior notice.

General

  • Any image considered to be inappropriate (nudity, sexual activity, gore, etc.) is to be immediately deleted and, depending on the severity of the offense, the user may be blocked from editing the wiki.
  • Only upload images that you are going to use (in articles, blogs, comments or forum). Any images that are not used after ten days of their upload will be deleted.
    • Before deleting an unused image, you must check if there is a page where it can be included, and include it if that is the case.
    • Usage of an image in a gallery does not count as a valid use by itself. Galleries are only a collection of images already used in other places.

Acceptable vs Unacceptable Images

Acceptable Images Unacceptable Images
  • Images related to the series and taken directly from the official source. This may be the website, Twitter, or any other form of social media directly linked to on the official Frieren site.
  • Only use .gif or .png file extensions. This is the standard requirement for the wiki system, and many file extension types (such as .bmp) are not uploadable.
  • Images unrelated to Frieren.
  • Fanart of any form, unless posted by the official Frieren accounts or website.
  • Images with improper filenames.
  • Files in any other format other than .png or .gif
    • The exception is if the file is unavailable in those formats from an official source
  • Images with watermarks.
    • The exception is if it is an official watermark.
  • Nudity and any other kind of image that shows explicit scenes, even if it is from an official source, according to FANDOM's Terms of Use.
  • Duplicate images.
  • Fake images (e.g. episode screenshots that were fan-created to look canon).
  • Upscaled images.
Failure to abide by the 'Acceptable Images' policy will result in the image(s) being deleted. In extreme cases (eg. breaking FANDOM's Terms of Use via image upload), a temporary or permanent block from the wiki may be necessary.

Consequences

Images that do not follow the 'Acceptable Image' policy will be removed or replaced. If an individual is found to have continuously violated the image policy, they will be given a single warning. If the same individual continues to disobey the policy, the user will potentially receive either a temporary or permanent block from the wiki, depending on the extent of the violation.

Uploading Images

When you upload an image to this wiki, please provide the minimum necessary information:

  • Descriptive filename: Files should be named to outline key elements that occur in the image.
    • Examples of some good filenames are:
      • Game Promo 1.png
    • Examples of some bad filenames are:
      • Screenshot 2021-04-05 at 6.33.04 PM.png
  • Licensing: The Fairuse template should be added to every image you upload that is from an official source. It can be added by selecting 'Fair use' in the dropdown licensing menu below where the file is renamed, by writing {{Fairuse}} in the upload summary, or by manually editing {{Fairuse}} onto the file page.
  • Categorization: Please add the appropriate episode/chapter and character categories to images you upload. This can be done by writing "[[Category:Example Images]]" in the upload summary or on the file page after it has been uploaded. These categories should include which characters are in the image, and which episode/chapter you took the image from.
  • Gallery addition: Please add all images that contain a character with a /Gallery subpage (e.g. Fern/Gallery) to said character's gallery under the appropriate heading. If you're unsure what the appropriate heading is, please use previously populated galleries as a reference or contact an admin.
