Minor characters are characters that only appear in one chapter or mini-arc in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. They are divided on the page into named minor characters and unnamed minor characters.

Ewig the Sage | |
A Sage from the Mythical Era[note 2] whose grimoires supposedly contained secrets about immortality and resurrection. He coded his grimoires with images. Ewig was exceptional at hypnosis magic. He created the Stone Bracelet of Servitude, a bracelet with a hypnosis spell cast on it that allowed you to give a command to the wearer that they would be forced to obey. Notably, this bracelet is the only magical item known to be able to manipulate a demon's mind. Despite being created so long ago, Edel confirms that the Stone Bracelet of Servitude placed on Macht of Golden Land is still functioning properly. Ewig's name in German means "eternal."

Basalt the Throne 「 | |
Basalt, also known as Basalt the Throne, was an extremely tall demon. He wore a full suit of armor and had long hair. He was a general of the Demon King's Army and was sent by the Demon King to Frieren's hometown as part of the Demon King's directive to kill all the elves. He and his forces succeeded in killing all the inhabitants of Frieren's village except for Frieren herself. He was ultimately defeated by Frieren, but almost at the cost of Frieren's life.

Stoltz 「シュトルツ Shutorutsu?」 | |
Stark's older brother. He was a sword-wielding warrior whom his father considered the pride of their village, and he was able to defeat monsters with ease without getting a single speck of mud on his pristine white cape. However, unlike their father who viewed Stark as a failure, Stoltz loved his little brother. He would train with Stark even in the rain and offered both praise and advice, and every year for Stark's birthday he would cook him Hamburg steaks in secret, showing he considered Stark a true warrior. He presumably died when his hometown was attacked by a demon. Stoltz, along with the other warriors of the village, confronted the demon, but Stoltz told his little brother to flee and live on. Stoltz's name in German means "pride."

Orden 「オルデン Oruden?」 | |
A nobleman presiding over the Vorig Fortified City and the current head of the Orden family, one of the Three Great Knightly Houses of the Northern Lands. Lord Orden initially seems like a pushy and cold man who is callous even in the face of his eldest son's death. He is harsh in his critiques of his remaining son, Mut, reminding Stark of the relationship between himself and his late father. However, Orden is much warmer than his façade implies. He is encouraging of Stark when he is scared, will often praise Mut and train with him, and even his actions in the face of Wirt's death are in honor of his son, who had prepared for this exact situation. On the night of the ball, he laments with Gabel that his eye injury made him unable to fight in the melee that claimed his son's life, showing how deeply he regrets his son's death and the argument preceding it. In their time together, Orden begins to view Stark as somewhat of a surrogate son. He offers for Stark to stay in Vorig, explaining the petty argument before his son's death and how miraculous finding Stark felt to him, but Stark tells him that he cannot replace his son, nor can Orden replace his father. The two part ways amicably. Ordens's name in German means "medal" but can also mean "order" or "fraternity."

Gabel 「ガーベル Gāberu?」 | |
Gabel is a quiet and loyal servant of Lord Orden, head of the Fortress City of Vorig. He possesses many skills, as can be seen when he was tasked by Lord Orden to teach etiquette to Stark in preparation for a ball. After the ball, Gabel oversees Frieren's Party as they attempt to pick a grimoire from Orden's library. According to Fern, Frieren's indecisiveness has made Gabel go rather lifeless. Gabel's name is German for "fork."

Wirt 「ヴィルト Vuiruto?」 | |
Lord Orden's oldest son. Wirt passed away in a melee against demon forces but managed to kill the enemy general. In case of death, he had always planned to cover up his death, going so far as to find a body double ahead of time. He and his father cared for each other greatly, but they had a petty argument before Wirt's death that they were never able to resolve. Wirt's name in German means "host."

Mut 「ムート Mūto?」 | |
Lord Orden's youngest son and the next heir of the Orden family. He is often seen working on his swordsmanship alone. Though Stark initially fears that Mut and Lord Orden have a bad relationship, Orden proves to be a caring father. He spends time training with Mut, and though he is honest that Mut is less skilled than his late brother, he also tells Stark that Mut's hard work will pay off and he will become a stronger swordsman than Orden himself. Mut's name is German for "courage."

Voll 「フォル Foru?」 | |
An elderly Dwarf warrior and a long-time friend of Frieren. He resides in a village in the Klar Region. The villagers have trouble understanding why Voll remains in the village protecting it and often struggle to talk with him. When Frieren visits Old Man Voll, they reminisce on old times together. Frieren tells her party that Voll is putting on a senile act, and once she tells him to drop it, he effortlessly knocks Stark down. While Frieren and Voll reminisce, Voll trains Stark throughout the week. Voll once had a human wife who lived in the village and asked him to protect it; though he has forgotten her face and voice, he still honors his promise to her. At the end of the week, Frieren realizes that Voll is truly starting to lose his memories. Instead of correcting what he doesn't remember, she tells him that she will carry his memory to the future with her. Voll's name in German means "full."

Nagel the Blacksmith 「 | |
A blacksmith in the town that the stubborn woman lives in. Frieren's Party are asked to deliver a message to him, but he ignores them in favor of his work. In the anime, Stark attempts to give Nagel the letter and he hammers the metal on his anvil faster the more Stark tries to speak to him. Nagel's name in German means "nail."

Lecker 「レッカー Rekkā?」 | |
The head chef for the restaurant Bell in Äußerst during the time of the Hero Party's journey to defeat the Demon King. He self-describes as the greatest culinary genius of this century. The Hero Party retrieves his heirloom chef's knife from demons who had stolen it, and as a reward, Lecker states that he will offer them the utmost hospitality and reward them with as much food as he can offer. When Frieren comments that she must savor the flavor, as she often cannot taste something good again, Lecker attempts to reassure her that Bell's taste will not change no matter how much time passes. Himmel asks for his reward for Lecker, who claims there are no flavors that could surpass his own, keep it that way so that Frieren may return and taste the same flavors again in the future. Despite his lofty claim, eighty years later Frieren returns and states that the flavor has changed; however, she acknowledges that it is even better than before. Lecker's name in German means "tasty" or "delicious."

Burg 「ブルグ Burugu?」 | |
A first-class mage with blonde hair and a deep voice who specialized in defensive magic. He had never once been injured since becoming a first-class mage. He made his cloak - called the immovable cloak - himself, and imbued it with defensive magic that prevented any offensive spells from getting through. Burg was in charge of the second-class mage exam two years ago. For his exam, examinees had to attack him with their strongest attack, and anyone who could push him back a step passed. He was killed by the third-class mage Übel who overdid her cutting magic, Reelseiden. Burg's name in German means "castle" or "fortress."

Lektüre 「レクテュール Rekuteyūru?」 | |
A daughter of the Glück Family and the late wife of Denken. She was a childhood friend of Denken and always had a frail body. The two would often play together growing up, and as they got older, continued to be very close. They would often go on picnics and speak with each other. The two were eventually wed in Weise. However, Lektüre's poor health continued to plague her. Denken sought both money and influence so that he could find a means to save Lektüre. He eventually would be promoted as an Imperial Mage, but on the night of the conferment ceremony, receives news that Lektüre has passed away. After her funeral, Denken does not return to Weise for over 50 years. However, as he grows old, he takes the First-Class Mage Exam so that he may visit her grave one more time. When he is nearly defeated by Macht's Diagoldze, he dreams of Lektüre again. She encourages him to continue to fight, no matter how clumsy his struggle. Lektüre denotes a "book frequently associated with some degree of scholastic significance" in German.

Graf Dach 「ダッハ | |
The ruler of a domain in the Northern Lands. The Graf's family line is known for making unreasonable demands. He invites Frieren's Party to an evening banquet in order to request that she retrieve his family's heirloom sword, which has been stolen by demons. The Dach family sword once belonged to a prominent demon, leading to it frequently being stolen, but Graf Dach at least knows the general direction the demon fled. Graf Dach rewards Frieren with a grimoire containing a spell to turn a red apple into a green apple. Dach's name in German means "roof."

Fass 「ファス Fasu?」 | |
A dwarf that lives in a village in the Bier Region. He is a dwarf whose love for alcoholic beverages is unmatched, and he has been pursuing Boshaft, a spirit fabled to be the finest spirit in the world, for over two centuries. During the time of the Hero Party's adventure, they do not have the time to assist him in his venture to Heiter's chagrin. Eighty years later, Frieren's Party encounter him in the Bier Region again, where he has finally located Boshaft in a stone room behind a barrier. He asks Frieren to decipher the barrier. She initially does not want to, as she knows the truth of Boshaft's quality and is concerned that Fass will be depressed if his life's goal turns out to be something worthless. However, Fass is not deterred. He laughs about how awful the drink tastes and makes the whole town try it, and says that thought the outcome was disappointing, he's never had an evening as fun. Fass's name in German means "barrel."

Milliarde 「ミリアルデ Miriarude?」 | |
An Elf acquaintance of Frieren and the creator of the inscription that names Boshaft as the finest spirit in the world. She has an apathetic demeanor and spends most of her time spacing out with no direction. She appears to enjoy pranking others as a method to pass time. Milliarde's name in German refers to the numeral "billion."

Norm | |
The president of the Norm Company in the Northern Plateau. He is a shrewd businessman who knows how to make use of all his resources. When Frieren's Party visits the estate in Norm Company Territory, he takes advantage of a promissory note his great-predecessor wrote during the Hero Party's original adventure in order to force Frieren to work to pay off the original loan and the accumulated interest. He is revealed to do so out of care, as the Norm Company is struggling and collapsing distribution networks will lead to great suffering in the Northern Plateau. He asks Frieren to find a silver ore deposit in return for clearing her debt to the Norm Company. Norm's name in German means "norm," "standard," or "rule."

Lord Norm | |
Norm's great-predecessor. He treated the Hero Party exceptionally well and lent them money for their journey to defeat the Demon King. He wrote a promissory note for the money he lent, but at the time he verbally told the Hero Party that they could wait as long as they needed to pay the money off.

Gehen 「ゲーエン Gēen?」 | |
A dwarf who has spent the last two centuries building a bridge across the Great Tor Canyon. When the Hero Party first encounter him, he explains that he had wanted to build a bridge across the canyon because his village, which was along one side of the canyon, was wiped out by demons and was unable to be assisted by the nearest garrison, which was stationed on the other side of the canyon. Himmel provides Gehen with funds from the previous Graf Dach, but Gehen tries to refuse, explaining that he has nothing of value to repay Himmel with and that he'll be long dead by the time Gehen finishes the bridge. Himmel instead tells him to build the bridge strong enough to last a millennium. When Frieren's Party come across Gehen again, he has finished the bridge, but it is now plagued with bird monsters that prevent crossing. He offers Frieren a spell that lets you flip pancakes perfectly in return for subjugating the monsters' nest. Afterwards, Gehen tells Frieren that he intends on spending the rest of his days peacefully in his new village - as two centuries is enough time for a new village to be built. Gehen's name in German means the verb "to go" or, as a noun, "walk."

Tau 「タオ Tao?」 | |
A first-class mage who led the advance party sent to scout the Golden Land. He was young but experienced. Along with the rest of the advance party, he was immediately detected by Macht once they entered the barrier of the Golden Land and turned to gold in an instant. Tau's name in German means "dew" or a "thick rope."

Früh 「フリュー Furyū?」 | |
A second-class mage who was part of the advance party sent to scout the Golden Land. She was the only one who managed to escape when Macht detected the advance party and turned them to gold. Früh managed to rendezvous with Lernen and Edel whereupon she reported what had happened, but when Lernen asked why she alone hadn't been turned to gold, she realized that she didn't know. At that moment, Macht turns her to gold outside of the barrier of the Golden Land before Edel is able to read her memories. Früh's name in German means "early" or "premature."

Wahrheit 「ヴァールハイト Viāruhaito?」 | |
A member of one of the Three Great Knightly Houses of the Northern Lands. Uses a bow and arrows to fight. By the command of the Emperor himself, Wahrheit has been ordered to eliminate the Demon King's Army from the Northern Lands. He presumes that Macht's curse has conditions that must be fulfilled to cast, but this misassumption costs him, as Macht quickly turns him to gold. Wahrheit's name in German means "truth."

Schräg the Thunderbolt 「 | |
One of the Demon King's Generals. After the Hero Party defeats the Demon King, he leads remnants of the Demon King's army towards Weise. He is defeated by Macht in order to win the trust of the nobility and populace of Weise. Macht laments that he had thought the general a wiser man, but that he was not the same without the Demon King's leadership. Schrägs's name in German means "sloped," "skewed," or "tilted."

Zart the Remnant 「 | |
A subordinate of Grausam the Miraculous. Zart is able to detect the space-time meddling Frieren causes when she touches the Goddess's Monument and confronts the Hero Party to investigate. Zart is able to teleport anything that he touches, including himself. He is strong enough to teleport a massive chunk of a cliff high into the sky. Zart uses his magic offensively by teleporting his opponents into the sky; as Flight magic has not been learned by humans of the era yet, this proves fatal unless they have extremely precise mana control. When Frieren destroys the cliff with modern magic, Zart thinks that he must report back to Grausam. However, he is defeated by Frieren's Zoltraak. As he dies, he muses that he was correct, and that Frieren is from the future. Zart's name in German means "delicate" or "dainty."

Kiesel 「キーゼル Kīzeru?」 | |
A dwarf that lives in a newly settled village around the Kino Mountain Pass after his previous village was destroyed by monsters. He has been alive for over a century. Kiesel is a blacksmith and the original creator of Himmel's Hero's Sword replica, which he was commissioned to create a replica of by a merchant of the Royal Capital when he had just begun working in his trade. Though he feels Himmel is not like the rumors say, he tells him that his false blade is not worthy of his caliber and offers to give him a better implement. However, when Himmel requests to continue using the blade, Kiesel agrees and sharpens it for him instead. Kiesel's name in German means "pebble."

Count Armée | |
Count Armée is a former noble of the eponymous noble house who reigned over the Titan Fortress. The Armées were more a bunch of warriors than a noble house, but in the time before the Demon King's defeat, their military prowess was enough to give them authority. Along with the rest of his family, Count Armée enjoyed showing off his muscles and lacked noble refinement. Though he was a gifted warrior, while he was the Count of the family, the family lost its peerage and land due to his lack of skill in politics. Armée's name in German means "army."

Armée | |
Armée is a mercenary and a former noble of the eponymous noble house who reigned over the Titan Fortress until its fall during his grandfather's generation. Armée is a tall and muscular man with square eyebrows and a handlebar mustache. When encountered by Frieren's Party, his shirt has been torn off by encounters with monsters in the Titan Fortress Ruins and he is wrestling a monster to death. Despite being a warrior, he is also capable of casting simple folk magic. The party helps him reclaim the family treasures in the chamber below the Titan Fortress Ruins. He gives Frieren the spell to keep your body nice and warm in return for her help.

Radaal 「ラダール Radaaru?」 | |
Radaal is one of four Shadow Warriors assigned to monitor individuals traveling the mountain path around the Aufgabe Federation, which was once the sole route to the Imperial Capital from the south. His mission was to eliminate everyone on a specific list, including Frieren. To infiltrate the village, Radaal and his fellow Shadow Warriors disguised themselves as a family. After several decades, Radaal became the only remaining member of his group and attempted to kill Frieren, the last target on his list, when she and her party passed through the village in the Aufgabe Federation.

Lineal 「リネアール Rineāru?」 | |
Lineal is the Continental Magic Association's spy in the Empire. She has been undercover for over fifteen years. She is the one who forwarded the information about a plan to assassinate Serie during the Empire's Foundation Festival. Lineal cannot move freely during the National Foundation Festival but is extremely knowledgeable about the going-ons of the Empire. According to Übel, she is an oddball who can spend long periods of time just sitting on her own and staring at butterflies. Lineal is German for "in-line" or "straight-lined."

Weg 「ウェーグ Wēgu?」 | |
Weg is a member of the Magic Special Forces under the command of Commander Kanone. Weg attends the Foundation Festival in Eiseberg to provide security for the nobles. Weg accompanies Neu after they capture Übel and Land, and remarks on having a stone quarry in their hometown when Neu asks if they could cut through stone. When Übel and Land manage to escape from the prison, Weg tells Kanone that they will catch up with them but Kanone retorts by telling Weg that it would be complicated to manage them in the city. Kanone also asks Weg to tell Neu to let them go. Weg's name in German means "path" or "way."

The King resides in the Royal Capital in the Central Lands. He is an older man with long gray hair and a thick gray beard and moustache that completely obscure his mouth. He wears a purple tunic edged in gold with a golden sash across the chest. On top of this, he wears a high-collar red cape with a blue gem fastening. His crown is red and gold with a large gold base. The King's influence reaches across the Central and Northern Lands. When the Hero Party first set out on their journey to defeat the Demon King, he provided them with ten copper coins.

Magic store owner 「魔導具店の店主 Madō-gu-ten no tenshu?」 | |
The owner of a store that Frieren visits for magical tools and supplies. He wears a monocle and stocks a variety of goods. Frieren visits him twice in the fifty years between Era Meteors. The second time, he has visibly aged and now has a mustache. He informs her that he doesn't have any Shadow Dragon horns, and that Shadow Dragons haven't been seen in twenty to thirty years.

During the funeral ceremony in the Royal Capital for Himmel the Hero two older ladies question why Frieren does not show a hint of sorrow, and state that she doesn't look sad and seems cold-hearted. Heiter and Eisen defend their comrade against the accusation. The woman on the left wears a dress with a high collar and lace-up detailing at the front. Her hair is short. The woman on the right is dressed in a gown with puffed sleeves and a scooped neckline with decorative trim. Her hair is pulled back neatly to a knot. The women are depicted only in the manga and their lines are voiced over in the anime without an animation of them.

Fern's mother has shoulder length purple hair in a lob and straight bangs. Her father has short brown hair. Fern possesses a picture, made by a mage with a spell: Photo-taking magic, of them that she keeps in a locket. They lived with Fern in a village in the Southern Lands. They were killed in a war in the Southern Lands, leaving Fern orphaned. | |
Turk Region Farmer 「ターク地方の農未 Tāku Chihō no nō mi?」 | |
Frieren and Fern help this farmer out with the harvest of his pumpkins in the Turk Region. In exchange for their work Frieren receives a spell that produces warm tea.

A herbalist that lives in a village in the Turk Region. She teaches Frieren and Fern about the flora of the region in return for their help in cleaning Himmel's statue and encourages Fern to communicate her concerns about their extended stay to Frieren. Her village was saved from a monster by the Hero Himmel 80 years ago.

A group of adventurers that hang out in a tavern in Warm. Though Fern is wary of their rough appearance, they are knowledgeable about the best places for sweets in town, claiming that a bit of sugar gives them the energy they need to adventure.

Straw hat villager 「麦わら帽子の老人 Mugiwarabōshi no rōjin?」 | |
An elder wearing a straw hat in the village by where Qual is sealed. He has an undercut and a short, straight mustache. Himmel would talk with him when he visited to check on the condition of the seal. After Qual is defeated, Frieren remembers him to be the brat that flipped her skirt 80 years ago.

Granz Channel village chief | |
The village chief of the Granz Channel. He is bald with a white mustache and extremely bushy eyebrows that obscure his eyes. He offers Frieren and Fern a fake of one of the Great Mage Flamme's grimoires as payment for cleaning up the shore of the channel by the New Year's Anniversary and checks up on them throughout their stay in town.

A kind woman that owns a bakery in the Granz Channel. She gives Fern extra bread for being a regular customer while Frieren and Fern stay in town to clean up the shore. The woman has her hair fixed to a bun. She wears a blouse with ruffled details and puffed sleeves under an apron. | |
Eisen's family | |
The village that Eisen and his family lived in was attacked by Demons. Only Eisen was able to survive. Eisen cared deeply about his family and still regularly maintains the graves of his family members outside his home in the Bredt Region.

Riegel Canyon granny and grandchildren 「リーゲル峡谷のおばあちゃんと孫 Rīgeru Kyōkoku no obāchan to mago?」 | |
An old lady with silver hair in a bun and two of her grandchildren she is seen taking care of in the Riegel Canyon. The older of the two children has black hair while the younger has light brown hair. Both children adore Stark and seek his attention. Stark saved the granny and the older child from the Solar Dragon when he first arrived at the village.

A husband and wife pair who live in the village Stark protected in the Riegel Canyon. They frequently cook for Stark and operate a restaurant in the village that Frieren and Fern eat at.

Captain of the Guard 「衛兵隊長 Eihei taichō?」 | |
The Captain of the Guard who commands the soldiers in Waal. He answers to the Castellan of Waal. Frieren says he is a good guard, as he is as harsh on outsiders as he should be. Though he initially warns Frieren's Party to not cause trouble, when he learns of Frieren's identity, he immediately apologizes to her.

Passants in Waal | |
The two passants have a small talk about the two years closure of the checkpoint until the army makes a move to subjugate the Northern Lands. They comment on how terrible commerce is and that even the sea routes are closed. Fern overhears their conversation. The shorter older man with a mustach wears a coppola cap and a baggy jacket. The younger taller man has spiky hair and is wearing a long-sleeved light shirt with a dark vest over it. The manga dedicates two panels to the conversation while in the anime scene, they don't appear and are only voiced over.

Bartender of a local inn in Waal 「マスター Masutā?」 | |
The Bartender of a local inn in the Fortress City of Waal serves Stark a Jumbo Berry Special. After Stark complains about the small size as he has grown up to be an adult, the bartender comments: "The flow of time sure is cruel," and that Stark should give back as much as he can to his old master Eisen.

She is inexperienced with human deception, as she is able to sense the killing intent from the villagers whose daughter she killed but tries to rectify this by killing the village chief and giving his daughter to the bereaved parents. She is killed by Frieren.

Bereaved Couple | |
The couple of the village that the Hero Party visited whose daughter was eaten by the young demon girl. The mother is furious and demands the demon girl to be killed. When the village chief offers to take the demon girl in she breaks down in horror. When the demon girl kills the village chief and presents his daughter as reparation, the couple is in shock and the mother strongly believes that they should have killed it back then. The wife wears a long-sleeved red shirt and has her red hair styled in a bun. The husband also has red hair and wears a muted olive-green tunic.

Village chief | |
The chief of the village that the Hero Party visited that was attacked by the young demon girl. He has a short mustache and neatly combed back hair that is parted in the middle. He is morally righteous, stating that if they killed the young demon girl they would be no different than demons, and also kindhearted, as he took the young demon girl in like family. He is ultimately killed by his naivety regarding demons.

Graf Granat's son | |
Graf Granat's only son who dies in the war against Aura the Guillotine 18 years after the death of the Hero Himmel. He wore a full suit of plate armor with the Granat family crest strung around his neck. He cared greatly for his father, brashly telling him he would take over the Granat family quickly so his father could rest easy. He was also incredibly skilled with a sword, and his abilities were recognized by the King himself after fighting a duel in the King's presence. Graf Granat's son was brave, as he headed out to the front lines despite shaking in fear, and he possessed tremendous willpower, as he was able to resist Aura's spell: Auserlese. He was ultimately beheaded by Aura and joined the ranks of her undead army. Graf Granat would keep his room clean in all the years following his death.

Three demons killed by Flamme | |
After Frieren defeated Basalt the Throne and was rescued by Flamme, these three demons pursued Frieren and Flamme. They are stronger than Basalt and, like all demons, extremely proud of their magic. They release their mana and confront Flamme and Frieren head on once they realize the pair are mages, but their carelessness in underestimating Flamme gets them instantly killed.

Graf Granat's gardener | |
A gardener employed by Graf Granat who does work around his estate. After the threats by Aura and her executioners are neutralized, Graf Granat orders him to cut down trees in the backyard. He reports the successful completion of this task, axe still in hand, while Graf Granat is having a meeting with Frieren's Party. This terrifies Stark, who believes that he is here to execute him for speaking casually to the Graf. Even after the misunderstanding is resolved, when Frieren's Party encounters the gardener in the midst of his work later on, Stark freezes in fear again.

In order to protect Himmel's legacy, she continues her predecessors' efforts to not hire other adventurers to defeat monsters that gather near the village. The village chief delivers the words her grandmother left for Frieren. She placed 21st in the first official popularity contest.

The chief of the Village of the Sword when Himmel visited. She witnessed as Himmel was unable to pull out the Hero's Blade, and commented that this hero was not the true hero either. She has short pink hair and wears a gray bell-sleeved dress with a white capelet. Her boots are black.

Stark's father had brown hair that he kept slicked back and a square jawline. His right eye has a large scar over it. He is shorter than Stoltz and wears a black cloak with gold trimmings. Stark's father is a harsh, militant man. He considers Stark a failure, as despite all of Stark's training, he still has not faced down a monster. He is also strict with the other warriors of the village, scolding them for their pathetic display against a monster and praising Stoltz, who he considered the pride of the village, for defeating it while keeping his white cape pristine. He is implied to have perished when demons attacked their village.

Sein's Brother | |
Sein's brother has wavy brown hair cropped to around chin length and green eyes. He is dressed in liturgical vestments. The holy symbol around his neck means he is the most outstanding priest in the region and was given to him by Heiter when he visited from the Holy City. Sein's brother cares deeply for Sein and chose to stay in their village in the Alt Woods instead of going to the Holy City so as to not take their hometown away from his orphaned brother. He grows angry at Sein for refusing to address his regrets for not seeking out Warrior Gorilla, and eventually helps persuade Sein to travel with Frieren's Party.

Accessory merchant | |
A traveling merchant who gives Frieren's Party a carriage ride through the Bande Woods. He has light brown hair and is garbed in neutral toned traveling clothes. He lives in a village in the area and runs an accessory shop. He is a shrewd salesman, immediately jumping to advertise his wares when Frieren expresses her thanks. When the carriage is carried off by a bird monster, he is saved by Frieren. He joins the party in repairing the wagon over the next few days, camping and eating meals with them. Because people of his village have at times lost accessories, he possesses the spell for finding lost accessories which he confers upon Frieren when he hears of her plight with her lost ring.

A middle aged lady with wavy, flax colored hair that reaches her shoulders and brown eyes. She wears a gray dress with a white cloak fastened over the shoulders. She, along with the rest of the villagers, are put to sleep by the Chaos Flower's curse. Upon being awoken due to Frieren's Party defeating the Chaos Flower, she thanks them profusely before seeing them off with the rest of the villagers. She tells Sein that thanks to him, she's never been happier to be awakened. Sein is later seen walking happily because of her comment; he comments that she sure was pretty.

Voll's wife | |
Voll's wife was a Human who lived with him in a village in the Klar Region. She passed away long before the Hero Party visited Voll. She had long brown hair and bangs that framed her face. According to Voll, she wished to see an era of peace after the Demon King's defeat. She loved the village that she and Voll lived in greatly. At some point long ago, he promised her that he would continue to protect the village. However, so much time has passed since her death that Voll can no longer remember her face, voice, or eyes. Despite this, he continues to honor the promise he made with her. Himmel states that his wife must be glad that he is still keeping his promise, no matter how ridiculous keeping a promise to a dead woman must seem.

The villager lives in Voll's village in the Klar Region. Frieren's Party takes up his request to harvest crops. He tells Fern and Sein that Voll protects the village but the villagers don't know why. For them, Voll is like a guardian deity. Usually, it's impossible to talk to Voll. That the dwarf has friends and looks happy talking, surprised him. The villager has short, spikey hair. He wears brown pants and a white shirt with a muted teal vest over it. Around his neck, the young man has a brown scarf.

The man lives in a village close by to the Rohr Road. Sein asks him if he has clues about his friend Gorilla. The man remembers the memorable warrior but not where he went. Under the robe a whit high collared long sleeved garment sticks out.

She tells Sein that while Gorilla was not able to polish the forgotten statues as well, his name sure was memorable.

During the cold snap, Frieren frequents his shop, and he shows her various grimoires and lets her browse his wares, with Frieren getting trapped under a pile of books at one point as a result.

The receptionist is knowledgeable about and tells Frieren and Fern the details of the First-Class Mage Exam. The exam is in two months, occurs every three years, and can only be taken by fifth-class mages and higher. She signs up both Fern and Frieren for the First-Class Mage Exam after Lernen recognizes Frieren's Holy Wand Emblem.

A girl from Wirbel's hometown that he had a crush on when he was 4 or 5 years old. Wirbel promised her that he would crush all the crappy demons so she could return one day, and this made her smile and tearfully bid him goodbye. To this day, Wirbel cites her as his reason for protecting the north and saving others from demons.

A party of examinees in the first stage of the First-Class Mage Exam. One of their party members was killed during the first stage after they had already secured a Stille. Denken and Richter find the corpse of the dead party member and seek out the remaining members. Understanding that they would refuse a bribe, Denken challenges them in hand to hand combat for their Stille. They eventually lose their Stille to Denken and Richter.

An old lady that lives in Äußerst. She brings her lamp to Richter to be fixed. Art of War Old man | |
A random old man that approaches Stark while he is training outside of Äußerst and begins speaking to Stark about spiritual nothingness and the art of war. He tells Stark that he has mastered both of these and that he has nothing more to teach him before leaving Stark. He is bald with many wrinkles, long grey brows that sag down his face, and a long grey beard that he keeps neatly trimmed. Frieren, upon seeing the old man and learning that Stark has no connection with him, comments that Stark always attracts weird people. As Fern seeks Stark outside of Äußerst to complain about Frieren who doesn't recognize her staffs sentimental value, the old man just leaves a moment before. When Frieren's Party departure Äußerst after finishing the First-Class Mage Exam and says goodbye to the townsfolk, he is also present.

Lawine's three older brothers. They have recently returned from the Capital. To Lawine's consternation, they always bring back too much stuff, usually in the form of clothes or accessories, for her and treat her like a dress-up doll. Lawine states that always being compared to her excellent brothers is hell. Lawine's eldest brother, on the far left, was part of the advance party the Continental Magic Association sent to raid the Ruins of the King's Tomb.[3] He tells his sister about what lies inside the dungeon before the second stage of the First-Class Mage Exam.

Lawine's mother. She has a similar hair and eye color to Lawine. A young girl that Himmel the Hero once saved from a horned monster with white and gray fur. She has brown eyes and brown hair in two braids. Frieren is prompted by this event to ask Himmel why he saves people, and he answers while waving at the young girl that he wants people to remember him, and to do that, you have to change their lives just a little.

The demon who stole the sword in great grand father Dach's time | |
A demon with two thin upward standing horns and a spikey haircut. He wears a long tunic that extends down to the knees, a belt and boots that cover most of the lower legs. In the right hand, he holds the heirloom sword he stole from Graf Dach's familiy. The demon was chased by the Hero Party into the Schwer Mountains and defeated.

The demon with a sword | |
A demon with the appearance of a middle aged lady. She has light-colored, shoulder length hair and small curved horns at the side of her head. She wears a dress covered by a hooded cloak and carries a carved symbol of the Goddess around her neck. She uses the symbol of the Goddess and fake gravesites dug for her victims to deceive and ensnare other prey. The demon with a sword is the one who stole the Dach family sword and uses it in battle. She is defeated by Frieren's Party in order to retrieve the sword.

Etwas Mountains family | |
A family living in a cabin in the Etwas Mountains consisting of the grandfather, mother, father, and two sons. They are the last remaining inhabitants in the area, as the rest of the village that was once in the area has been abandoned with the Etwas hot springs drying up. While Frieren speaks with the grandfather, Stark plays with the two children. The grandfather reminisces on the old village and, when Stark asks, tells the party about the secret hot spring of the Etwas Mountains.

Northern Plateau border guard | |
One of the guards at the border of the Northern Lands and the Northern Plateau in the Nachricht Region. Like the other guards, he wears a nasal helmet and half plate armor. The guard inspects Fern's first-class mage certification, identifies her politely as a first-class mage, and tells the party to be careful in the Northern Plateau before allowing them through the border.

Nachricht Region villager | |
A middle aged man with slicked-back, light colored hair. He wears a button-up shirt with a vest and overshirt on top. He has two young children. In return for lodging in a vacant cabin, he asks Frieren's Party to subjugate a powerful monster that has appeared up the road from the village and has stopped merchants from coming to the village. When Stark asks why the villagers do not leave to the safer Northern Lands, he tells Stark that the land is filled with precious memories of his family, and that no one wants to abandon their hometown.

Norm Company gate receptionist | |
A young man with spiky, light colored hair. He is one of the receptionists that checks the paperwork of those who wish to enter the Norm Company's Estate. While he initially approves their entrance based on Fern's paperwork, he recognizes Frieren from a guidebook all receptionists possess, and alerts President Norm of her arrival.

Norm Company miners | |
Minors under the employ of the Norm Company. They are attempting to find a deposit of silver ore. President Norm tells them that Frieren will be able to help them find silver ore. After her spell points out the rock face that leads to silver ore, they get to work immediately and dig in that direction. Their efforts pay off, and they are able to discover a vein of silver.

Baker's son | |
The son of a baker that Genau used to play with when they were both kids. He took over the bakery from his father when his father passed away, but according to Genau, the bread he baked didn't taste very good. Genau finds him with a festering stomach wound after demons attacked their hometown. He clings to Genau, who reassures him that he killed all the demons and lies that everyone in their hometown is safe. He passes away before Genau is able to take him to Methode. He laments that though the son's bread was not as good as the father's, he will never be able to eat it again.

Captain of the Chivalric Order of the Norm | |
The Captain of the Chivalric Order of the Norm that was stationed in Genau's hometown. Genau calls him a hero who protected the village for many years. He is, by Frieren's estimation, even stronger than Stark. The results of Methode's autopsy spell show that the he was killed instantly by slashing blades. He likely confronted the Divine Revolte but was overwhelmed immediately by his foe's quadruple wielding.

Genau's previous partner | |
Genau's previous first-class mage partner. He dies in battle against the Divine Revolte, causing Serie to assign Methode as Genau's partner. According to Genau, he was earnest and sincere even with strangers and was always smiling and excited. Genau recalls him chatting with village kids during their missions. He treated Genau like they were friends despite Genau's claims to the contrary. He dies protecting a child from the Divine Revolte while Genau is away defeating other demons. At his funeral, Serie states that he was kind-hearted, and that kind-hearted mages never survive long. Though Genau's words are empty when he calls his partner's death heroic, he inspires Genau to protect a child that the Divine Revolte targets.

Kid Genau's previous partner saved | |
A kid in a village that Genau and his partner were sent to. Genau's partner stayed behind to protect the corpses of the villagers that were slain. He is attacked by the Divine Revolte, and dies protecting a surviving child in the village. Genau returns to find his partner dead, with the child crying over his body. However, the child's life is saved by Genau's partner's actions.

Young demon girl serving Revolte | |
A young demon girl that serves the Divine Revolte and calls him Master Revolte. She is excitable, asks many questions, and is sensitive to mana, as she is able to tell that mages have fallen into the trap that Revolte has laid in the village. She is able to use a spell to change one's appearance, and following Revolte's observation that humans will protect children even at great cost to themselves, transforms herself into a young human girl with braided pigtails. Revolte throws one of his blades at the disguised demon girl, causing Genau to protect her. She takes the opportunity to stab Genau with a blade, before transforming back into a demon and asking Revolte for praise. However, she is cut down mid-sentence by Genau's wings, and dissipates into mana. Revolte thanks her for her trouble.

Fog control demon | |
A demon working with the Divine Revolte. He specializes in Fog Control: Nebeladora, which creates a large fog of mana that completely surrounds the victims and blocks their vision and mana detection. He is able to condense his fog to attack and defend and can easily detect any opponents within the fog. He fights against Fern but is defeated by a long range Zoltraak from her once Methode analyzes and dispels his magical fog.

Whirlwind attack demon | |
A demon working with the Divine Revolte. She keeps her hair tied in five sections and wears a blindfold. She wields a blade and specializes in the Whirlwind Attack Spell: Medrozobalt, which causes blasts of wind to slice at an opponent based on where she slices. The attack can be directed at the ground, which creates a rift in the earth in the direction of the opponent. She fights Methode, who notes that her opponent has a very steady attacking style. She has perfect defense even when on the offense and a solid foundation that Methode cannot find any openings in. She notices that Methode's fighting style is like that of a clan that used to specialize in fighting demons in the Northern Plateau and states that they can have a good fight. However, she does not notice until too late that Methode is fighting to buy time, and lacks any killing intent. She is defeated by a long range Zoltraak from Fern once Methode dispels her partner's fog.

The chief of the village in the Drachen Region that is being terrorized by a thunder of dragons. He is a middle aged man with light hair and dark brows who wears glasses. When Frieren tells him that the town cannot be saved, he tells her that it is still their home. He offers Frieren's Party a grimoire for a spell that allows you to say tongue twisters without tripping over your words as a reward for subjugating the dragons and directs them towards the location of the thunder.

Lake Korridor ferryman | |
A ferryman that takes travelers across Lake Korridor if they pay the fare. He refuses to take Frieren's Party across during the winter, as the harsh weather over Lake Korridor makes water travel dangerous, and he claims his boat is not a coffin. Frieren's Party don't have the funds to cross the lake, but he tells them he'll take them across in return for retrieving the memoir of the Hero Himmel that has been left in a deserted monastery in the middle of the lake. Once he realizes that Frieren has emotional attachment to the memoir, he tells her to keep it and instead takes other books from the monastery. After departing the island, he yells that they've encountered a Kraken.

Schmal Snowfield adventurer | |
An adventurer in the Schmal Snowfields that pays Frieren's Party to erect a barrier against people around a Holy Snow Crystal vein. They originally assume he plans to profit off the crystals, but he reveals to them that he had the barrier erected to protect the crystals from being mined. As a native to the region, he happened upon the same vein of crystals when he was younger and was inspired to become an adventurer, and he now wishes to protect the beauty of his homeland for future generations.

Wissen Mountain herbalist | |
A herbalist from a village in the Wissen Mountains. Frieren's Party finds him staring up at the sky. He explains that for a long time, villagers in the region have been finding the leaves and seeds of plants that are not native to the region, which fall from the sky with no evidence of being carried by a bird nor any other explanation. He asks the party to investigate, as many of the leaves and seeds that fall have medicinal properties and finding the source of them could save many lives. He offers the party the ingredients for magical potions as a reward. Frieren gives him a large basket of seeds, nuts, and fruits from the Sky-Mountain Dragon's back before they leave.

A merchant in the Kino Pass that requests the Hero Party act as his bodyguard and escort him to the next village. They protect him from humanoid wolf-monsters that attack in a pack, and he thanks them for their help once they arrive.

The abbot of the monastery on a precipitous cliff that the Hero Party travels to in order to ask about the Goddess's Monuments. He allows them to consult the monastery's archives, but is unable to provide any more information when the library proves fruitless.

A young man who serves as the barkeeper in the bar in a village in the Kino Pass. He tells the Hero Party that they are closed for the night, prompting Himmel to drag Heiter away. When Himmel asks if he knows anything about the Goddess's Monuments, he says he does not, but tells the party about the ruins of a city from the Unified Empire Era that is south of the current village. He suggests that they check out the cathedral in the middle of the ruins to see if they can find any more information, but warns them that the last group of adventurers to trek into the ruins never returned.

A villager who has recently moved into the newly settled village that the Hero Party visits in Kino Pass. He tells them that there are no folktales of the Goddess in the village because of how new it is, but recommends that the party speak to Kiesel, a dwarf over a hundred years old who also recently moved to the village.

A Warrior who grew up hearing stories about the Goddess's Monument from his grandfather and prays at the monument for good fortune. He encounters Himmel as an old man around thirty years prior, and leads him to the monument where Himmel is able to fulfill his promise to Frieren. He listens to Himmel's stories about Frieren, and upon encountering Frieren he tells her that Himmel seemed so happy when he was telling stories about her and he thought Frieren should know.

Due to her village's lack of wealth and absence of grimoires, she offers a vase imbued with mysterious power, said to cause nightmares, as compensation. Frieren accepts the reward. Upon Frieren and her party's return from their monster subjugation quest, they inform her of the demise of the Imperial Patrol. She responds by saying that the village will mourn and pray for the souls of the soldiers who died protecting them.
