Milliarde ｢ミリアルデ Miriarude?｣ is an elf acquaintance of Frieren and the creator of the inscription that names Boshaft as the finest spirit in the world.
Personality[]
Milliarde has an apathetic demeanor and spends most of her time spacing out with no direction. She appears to enjoy pranking others as a method to pass time.
Appearance[]
Like all elves, Milliarde has pointed ears. She wears round earrings, and her hair is light-colored with sideswept bangs. Her attire consists of a long dress and a shawl with a single fastening.
History[]
At some point in her life, Frieren met and became acquainted with Milliarde as a fellow Elf.
To kill time, Milliarde carved an inscription in ancient Elvish that described Boshaft as the "finest spirit" despite it tasting horrid. Frieren later encountered her and remarked on her passive lifestyle. In response, Milliarde shared a past experience in which she had pursued something for a considerable amount of time, only to discover that the end result was worthless, resulting in her behavior. She explained that elves avoid such a situation by spending the entirety of their lives in the pursuit of something.[1]
Milliarde's inscription is discovered by Fass, prompting him to begin his 200-year Boshaft quest.
Synopsis[]
Frieren and her party are shown Milliarde's inscription by Fass after he requests for their help in dispelling the magic barrier protecting the supply of Boshaft. Knowing Milliarde, Frieren is reluctant to help Fass with the quest, but she ultimately gives in after pressure from Fern and Stark.
As Frieren works to dispel the barrier, she tells Fern that there are Elves like Milliarde that do anything to relieve boredom, and dedicating one's life to something like the pursuit of Boshaft isn't worth the effort.
