Summary[]
Filming on The 15 Year Lie continues. Hikaru arrives at Ai's appartment building, having been invited by the latter to continue their acting lessons. Noticing that he came by bike, Ai asks why he did not simply take the train before deducing that he does not have an allowance. When Ai proposes Hikaru get a job as an idol to earn some money, the middle schooler tells her to not joke with him. Ai, however, claims to be completely serious.
Inside Ai's apartment, the idol tells Hikaru that she had received complaints about her performance feeling out of place and asks for advice. However, Hikaru states that nothing can be done, since Ai is a "weirdo" and thus her acting normal would be weird. Offended, Ai states that Hikaru is the weird one and an argument ensues where they each accuse the other of being weirder. After calming down, Ai asks Hikaru what about her is weird. Hikaru responds that normal people do not make others come to their house to teach them acting, arguing that the student should come to the master. While not disagreeing, Ai states that Hikaru's argument should be "do not invite a man into your home", once again calling him the weirder one. Unconvinced, Hikaru accuses Ai of being the weirder one on account of her not wearing matching socks, adding that one sock and a shoe even have holes in them. Hikaru then tells Ai to be more careful with how she dresses, only for the idol to jokingly refuse. Despite this, however, it is later noted that Ai suddenly began wearing proppor clothes and make-up.
At some point, as thanks for coaching her, Ai invited Hikaru to a fancy restaurant recommended to her by her producer. While Ai assures Hikaru that she will be paying, the latter is still concerned about it being too expensive. In response, Ai confirms that the reservation alone is $50,00 per person, but she took precautions by taking out $100,00 beforehand. Despite Ai's confidence, however, both she and Hikaru are shocked upon being handed the menu and seeing the food prices. Later, while walking home, Ai comments that the food was delicious and Hikaru was cute. Hikaru tells her to stop treating him like a child, but Ai responds that he did not even eat his tomatoes, which only a child would do. Before parting ways, Hikaru asks Ai if she enjoyed their date and the latter affirms that she did.
In his mind, Hikaru then reveals that his demeanor around Ai has been one big act. In truth, tomatoes are his favorite food, he had been to that restaurant before with Airi, and he has plenty of money as a result of the latter paying him for letting her molest him. In truth, he is fully aware that he is the weirder one between himself and Ai, being disgusted with how he is letting a pedophile take advantage of him. Hikaru then begins to wonder if it is truly alright for him to act this way in order to feel loved and whether he can truly be considered "cute". However, no one has ever caught on to the fact that his outer self is just an act and he is confident that no one ever will.
The next day, however, Ai easily calls him out on his lies when he tells her that he is fine, being able to tell that he is lying because he has the same eyes as herself: the eyes of a liar.
