Rewriting「リライティング, Riraitingu?」 is the forty-ninth chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on July 8, 2021.[1]
Summary[]
Abiko heads to the theatre to watch a play with tickets given to her by Aqua via Yoriko. At the end of the play, Raida is interrupted by a member of his staff, who informs him that Abiko is spotted coming out of the theatre and they hurriedly invite her to the backstage. Raida awkwardly asks for her thoughts on the play before remembering Aqua's words, he stops the flattery and lays everything out.
To maintain relationship with her publisher and protect her rights as an author, they can perform using the script she provides without any changes. He then gives an example that a genius novelist cannot deliver quality storyboard if it is their first attempt, the same applies to script writing. Therefore the script she turns in might lead to the play being a flop. He then brings up the fact that the play she just watched is written by Goa and that she should give him a chance. Reflecting on Yoriko's words, Abiko finally relents but on one condition...
Abiko would only agree to an arrangement if she has a direct line of communication with GOA. Raida arranges a video conference between the two, while thinking to himself that this arrangement carries its own risk as it can lead to infighting which would derail the project. Since there is nothing left to lose, it is worth the gamble. As the two share their ideas, Goa is starting to understand her way of thinking while Abiko comes to appreciate his knowledge of stage play. Abiko also mentions that she likes the play that he wrote and hopes that Tokyo Blade will feel like that as well. In the end, the two manage to complete the script in a satisfying manner. Upon seeing the new script, Raida is somewhat horrified at the results but with little time left for rehearsal, there are no alternatives.
The heavily revised script, which demands a significant amount of acting ability, reaches the cast. While Melt panics upon seeing it, others such as Akane and Kana are happy with what they got.
