Wish「願い, Negai?」 is the eightieth chapter of the Oshi no Ko manga series. It is written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It was released in Weekly Young Jump on May 12, 2022.[1]
Summary[]
B-Komachi's music video filming is over, and everyone is free to spend the rest of their time in Takachiho. Mem-Cho points out that they still need to fly out the next day, so their time is limited. Kana Arima decides to check out the hot spring in the meantime. Mem-Cho confirms with Anemone Monemone that the first music video should be ready by next month, but the second music video might take longer. Mem-Cho curiously asks her about the reason for the delay, but Anemone cryptically says that she might be a creator, but she's still an artist at heart.
Akane Kurokawa is enjoying herself in the hot spring, and reminisces over the events unfolding in the past couple of days. She hides herself in the water in embarrassment as she thinks of her kiss with Aqua Hoshino, and wonders shyly about the nature of their relationship. Kana joins Akane and calls out her flushed cheeks, saying that the hot spring is affecting her and that she should get out before she feels dizzy.
Kana then mentions how Akane gonna star in a movie soon, and how popular she is getting. Akane downplays the accomplishment, saying that the movie won't even be shown in theaters, but Kana disregards that and said that distribution does not reflect the quality of the movie. Kana then continues, saying that she is jealous, and how Akane should ride this wave of fame that would come her way. She then said that she should be focusing on her career, instead of going on trips such as the one they're having, to accommodate her "work" relationship with Aqua.
Akane then shyly said that their relationship was no longer just for show. Realizing what she says out loud, Akane gasps in embarrassment and takes the chance to get out of the conversation, saying that she's dizzy, and walking out of the spring. Kana looks on to fleeing Akane, staring in disbelief, and denying the possibility that they're dating for real.
Ruby Hoshino and Akane share a room together to sleep. Ruby wakes up Akane at night to ask her about Aqua's reason for being an actor. Akane answers that he is probably looking to meet someone in the entertainment world. Ruby looks surprised and asks Akane if she knows who that person could be. Akane takes her time answering, because she doesn't want to trouble Aqua with the knowledge, and prefers if Aqua forgets the incident entirely. Akane answers that he might be looking out for his favorite actor and ends the conversation quickly as she goes to sleep again. Ruby stares on, her head full of thoughts, as she tries to sleep as well.
The next day, everyone, including Miyako Saitou, visits the Aratate Shrine in Takachiho and makes their wish. Mem-Cho wishes that they could all become more popular. Miyako, with a worried face, wishes that her talents don't cause problems. Akane wishes that her acting would get better. Kana, with a gloomy face, also wishes that they can all become more popular. Ruby, however, wishes that Aqua find the person who killed Ai Hoshino and Gorou Amamiya soon.
After the trip, it was said that the music video was a sensation, and it became the catalyst for the new B-Komachi's rising popularity.
Half a year passes by, and the twins are in their second year of high school, while Kana is in her third year of high school. Aqua narrates that this year is the year that their careers took off, as the next arc begins: Mainstay.
