Ichigo Production, Inc「苺プロダクション, Ichigo Purodakushon?」, also known as Strawberry Productions or Ichigo-Pro「苺プロ, Ichigo Puro?」 for short, is an entertainment agency that currently specialize in the management of internet talent.[1] Their most popular act had been the idol group B-Komachi along with their members, including Ai Hoshino before her death, leading to the closing of the idol division after the group disbanded. With the induction of Ruby Hoshino into the company, they relaunched their idol division again, reviving the B-Komachi group with new members.
History[]
Ichigo Saitou's Era[]
During Ichigo Saitou's era as the president of the company, he was able to scout Ai Hoshino into his company, and grow the idol group B-Komachi to great success. However, there had been instances of internal frictions due to Ichigo's favoritism on Ai, who had been exceedingly more popular than the other members.[2] However, everyone in Ichigo Productions were aware of Ai's importance, and the frictions were contained, at least superficially.
In order for Ai to be able to get a job acting in the movie That Was the Start, Aqua Hoshino was required to act in the movie as well. As a result, he was inducted to the company as a child actor, in order to smooth things over with the production team.[3]
After the sudden death of Ai Hoshino, Ichigo Saitou went missing and cut off all contacts. His wife, Miyako Saitou, stepped up to fill the vacancy in the president's post.
Miyako Saitou's Era[]
Miyako Saitou stepped up to become Ichigo Production's president with her husband missing. Two years into her presidency, B-Komachi disbanded, and the idol division deactivated.
As the president of the company, she began refocusing the company as a management agency for internet talents such as Pieyon.
Ten years later, Miyako formally inducted Ruby Hoshino, her adopted child, into the company.[4] This lead to her reactivating the idol division of the company once more.[5]
Aqua shortly scouted Kana Arima to help his sister fulfill her dream of becoming an idol, and Ruby suggested the name "B-Komachi" for their band name. After the event of LoveforReal, Aqua also introduced Mem-Cho to Ichigo Productions as the third member of the revived idol group.
Years later, during the production of The 15 Year Lie, Aqua Hoshino set up Ichigo Saitou, the former president, to meet with his wife Miyako, which ended up being the catalyst for his forced return to the company.
