Not to be confused with the Dominator GTT, a classic adaptation of the original Dominator.
The Vapid Dominator GTX is a muscle car appearing in Grand Theft Auto Online and due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI.
Description[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Dominator GTX was added as part of the continuation of the Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series update, released on May 8th, 2018, during the Business Week event.[1]
Grand Theft Auto VI[]
The car can be seen in white, driving along an Ocean Drive-inspired road in Vice Beach, in the first trailer (0:31).
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Dominator GTX is a modern muscle car that takes strong influences from the sixth generation Ford Mustang, as evidenced by the general profile and rear fascia. The front fascia and tail lights are reminiscent of the seventh generation Dodge Charger, while the shape of the tail light comes from Bulleta RF22's rear grille. The front intakes and front skirts are inspired by the sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The rear bumper, stock hood and grille are directly pulled from the Ford Mustang GTT, the exhausts of which can be installed via Los Santos Customs. Some of the car's details take hints from the Saleen 302 Black Label Mustang, particularly the headlights.
The vehicle appears as a modern iteration of the original Dominator, having an enlarged profile and aggressive styling. The front of the car is largely dominated by a lower grille on the center and the smaller intakes on the outer edges, followed by a black extender with sharp edges on the front. The upper area is composed of a narrow upper grille on the center, while the outer sides are occupied by a set of modern headlights, consisting of small turn signals on the outer side, sectioned main units on the middle and vertical high-beam strips on the inner side. The hood lid bears distinctive formations around the center and has two large intakes, as well as the manufacturer emblem on the front. The same hood opens to reveal a large engine with chrome cam covers and a linear strut brace, which bears silver "VAPID" lettering.
The sides denote its sporty nature, featuring black inset sections on the side skirts and impressed formations on the middle portions, passing through the doors and leading to a set of vertical intakes on the rear fenders. The doors have painted horizontal handles and painted wing mirrors with black supports. The greenhouse area features plastic trim around the windows and rear-quarter windows that do not seem to have defined B-pillars like the original model, as well as an inset portion on the center of the roof and two black/plastic trim on either side. The trunk lid bears a curvature that juts out of the body and forming a ducktail end.
The rear of the car is similar in shape to the original Dominator and features a slanted inset panel with modern tail light strips, consisting of main units surrounding most of the rear panel, the reverse units on the inner portion and spanning most of the car's width, and the smaller indicator/brake units on either side of the panel. The bumper area is predominated by a set of rear vents and a lower diffuser finished in black, with the license plate on the center and the chrome, large-diameter exhaust pipes on the outer sides.
Unlike the original Dominator, the Dominator GTX's interior is shared with the Specter, a more modern and luxurious trim fitting for the vehicle's high-end nature. The Vapid logo can be seen on the horn cap.
Most of the bodywork is painted in a primary color, while the mirrors, handles and interior stitches are painted in a secondary color. Its stock rims are similar to the "Synthetic Z" sport wheels also available in Los Santos Customs and other mod shops, although the lip/portion behind the spokes are slightly larger.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Dominator GTX has an almost polar-opposite performance to that of the regular Dominator; while the regular Dominator is dominant in straight line speed and torque, the GTX emphasizes much more on handling and stability. In fact, the GTX is one of the easiest muscle cars to drive. Its acceleration is average with little to no wheelspin; however, the top speed is painfully slow, lower than that of the Felon, Schafter, and other cars commonly found on the street. Its braking is quite good, and it is faster around a track than the original Dominator, despite the statistics being lower than the original Dominator.
The Dominator GTX has all four advanced flags enabled[2]:
- The first causes up-shifting to occur much sooner, and at lower engine revolutions, effectively shortening shift rates.
- The second causes the vehicle's engine to heavily over-rev and remain at the engine red-line for a much longer period of time before shifting, causing revolutions to fluctuate.
- The third increases the vehicle's suspension "springiness", causing it to bounce excessively while driving.
The vehicle is powered by a single-cam V8 engine with a square air filter on top, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox in a front engine, rear wheel drive layout. It shares the same sound as the regular Dominator.

Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The Dominator GTX was originally intended to have liveries available for purchase, as evidenced by the presence of a livery UV map[3].
- When installing the "Primary Extender" option, the color of said component is affected by the black lip of the front, adopting darker tones/shades (i.e. applying a lime green primary color results in a dark green variation).
- On the preview image on Southern San Andreas Super Autos and the pre-2019 image on Rockstar Games Social Club, the Vapid badge on the hood of the Dominator GTX is missing.
Oversights[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The tachometer, the right-most dial, appears to be incorrectly positioned, as the needle rotates in the other direction to the dial itself.
