The Karin Futo GTX is a 3-door compact sports liftback featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Los Santos Tuners update.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Futo GTX is primarily based on the 1983-1987 Toyota Sprinter Trueno (AE86) liftback.
The vehicle is based upon the original Futo, sharing the compact body, flared arches, flared skirts and square tail lights. However, the most noticeable features are the smaller grille, the pop-up headlights, the slanted hood area and the hatchback roofline. The interior is also retained from the original model, also having the "FUTO GT" doorcards and the vehicle's name on the tachometer.
Similar to the regular version, the primary color of the car is applied on the upper side and the stitches of the steering wheel, while the secondary one is applied on the lower side. A trim color option is also available for the doorcards and inner portions of the seats, as well as a dial color that also affects some of the custom exhaust options. It shares the same wheel design as the original model, being a derivative of the "Fujiwara" tuner rims seen in Los Santos Customs, fitted with medium-profile tires. These rims can also support a dedicated color, although only naturally-generated examples from Content Creator may have one.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Futo GTX is powered by a 4-cylinder engine bearing four throttle bodies, similar to the original Futo. The badging still indicate that it bears a 20-valve straight engine (5 valves per cylinder) with high-performance injection, a rear wheel drive and a limited slip differential. The engine sound is high-revving and loud, more so than the one from the original Futo.
The Futo GTX has good speed and acceleration, but its strong suit is being able to drift around corners with ease. Like its original counterpart, however, it has weak resistance against hard collisions, and its wheels can bend from repeated collisions, which can greatly affect its handling. Competition-wise, it doesn't fare well in races due to its tendency in wanting to drift upon turning and is easily outclassed by vehicles with more grip, and its body roll is also noticeable when turning hard.

Trivia[]
General[]
- The "Delivery Boy" livery is an obvious nod to the Toyota AE86 driven by Takumi Fujiwara in the anime and manga series Initial D, who, in addition to racing, used the car to deliver tofu for his father in the early morning.
- The Japanese text on the livery, "スタンスアンドレアス", reads "Stance Andreas".
- When applying the livery, the "Futo" badge will change to say "Tofu" instead.
- Some of the Futo GTX liveries are based on ones from the Futo:
- "Classic Decals"
- "Boro Futo"
- "Drift Missile" - The overall livery textures on the GTX is same as the ones on regular Futo, while the stickers were changed, and the white "DORI-" word can be seen scribbled on the left of the "Futo" badge, making it says "Dori-Futo" (ドリフト), a Japanese pronunciation for the word "Drift".
- "Legendary Racer" - Based on a TRD N2-spec AE86.
- "Karin Rally Team" - Inspired by TRD's tri-colour racing strips during the 1980s.
- "Scandinavian Flick"
- "Team Auto Exotic" - Based on Tetsuya Hibino's Up Garage Trueno livery, or alternatively a previous version of Ken Maeda's Up Garage Trueno livery.
- "Rolling Dude No.7" - Based on the "Rolling Guy No.1" from the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. Note that the livery for the Futo GTX is named "Rolling Dude No.8".
- "Garage Drift" - Based on the Yukes AE86 Trueno, driven by Katsuhiro Ueo.
- "Itasha Drift"
- The "Chokusen Dorifuto" livery is loosely based on the Winds Auto D1GP AE86 Levin.
- The "Tandem Battle" livery is based on the Up Garage Trueno, driven by Ken Maeda.
- Unlike the original model, the reflectors seen next to the reverse lights also work when the car is going on reverse.
Oversights[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The headlights are set to have high intensity when are turned on, as if they are always high-beam lights. The "Fog Lights" options, on the other part, provide low intensity. This was corrected in The Contract update.
- Any "Transparent Hood" option on the vehicle will make the hood invisible when the player looks through the windshield.[2]
