The Hijak Ruston is a lightweight sports car featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Cunning Stunts: Special Vehicle Circuit update, released on March 21st, 2017, during the Ruston Week event.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Ruston takes the appearance of a lightweight open-top track car, and is based on the Mexican styling of the VUHL 05. The front fascia is inspired by the one found on the KTM X-Bow.
The Ruston is distinguished by its boxy profile, yet with an aerodynamic design and largely dominated by CFRP details. The front features a large carbon intake with two painted ducts on either side, a plastic splitter at the bottom and a tow hook in the center. The car appears to have LED headlights placed on carbon-fiber housings, along with the turning signals below. The hood area is mostly flat in shape, with the fenders giving it a bulky profile and featuring lightweight mirror wings over these. The front also bears silver lettering in the center, displaying the vehicle's manufacturer.
The sides of the car are clearly denoted by inset formations running through most of the car's body, small side skirts with fins on the rear edges and slanted shapes around the cabin, which become seemingly flatter as they run towards the rear end. The inset formations have a carbon-fiber finish and run towards large rear intakes intended for the rear brakes/engine bay, while smaller inset strips run parallel to the upper edges and are connected to the rear wheel arches. The cabin area features a bolted-on strip with a small windshield attached on the front, while two black rollbars with a fuel hose on the driver side and a central intake can be seen behind the seats. Most of the rear section is also occupied by a black compartment with carbon-fiber panels.
On the rear end, the car has silver lettering in the center that displays the vehicle's manufacturer, and carbon-fiber housings with LED tail lights on either side, each one consisting of two red units and single turn signals with inner reverse units. Like the front end, a carbon-fiber section predominates most of the vehicle and houses a license plate, a tow hook and dual exhaust pipes in the center, while a large diffuser with dual blades is mounted on the lower portion. The underside of the car is mostly covered by various bolted-on, carbon-fiber panels, with the front one leaving small room for the front wheels' steering.
The Ruston features an interior predominated by race elements, where the central section has a carbon-fiber panel running from the dashboard to the rear compartment, while a digital speedometer is connected to the dashboard by two carbon-fiber frames. The doors are reinforced by cross bars on the inner side and feature bolted-on panels with pull straps on the upper side, while dual articulated hinges can be seen on the frames when the same doors are open. As expected from its racing design, lightweight seats with red seatbelts are fitted as standard.
The car is painted in a primary color for the body, the overstitches on the steering wheel and the details of the stock wheels, while the secondary color is applied on the rear diffuser and the inner portions of the cabin area. Although not accessible and not listed in the files, the vehicle's dashboard supports a trim color, which is always set to black. The wheels are similar to those from the Cheetah, being a variation of the "Cheetah R" high-end rims available in Los Santos Customs and other mod shops, although they lack the bolt details around the center. The rims also support a dedicated color, although this is only possible in Content Creator, as naturally-generated examples always use the default alloy color.
If purchased through Legendary Motorsport, the Ruston will be fitted with a stock wing that resembles the VUHL 05's stock spoiler; however, if spawned through other means, the wing will not be installed. The spoiler can be seen on the Legendary Motorsport gallery.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Ruston has a relatively quick acceleration and nippy handling around corners, with the chance of an oversteer relatively slim. Its durability against collisions is surprisingly strong for a lightweight sports car, making it a good choice for freemode. However, its lack of traction around corners renders it ineffective as a racing vehicle. Furthermore, the openness of the Ruston makes the player very exposed to gunfire due to not having any roof covers for protection.
Given the black compartment on the rear, the Ruston appears to have a rear-mid engine, rear wheel drive layout, with a 5-speed gearbox. Its engine configuration, however, is not indicated, as the compartment does not open and there is no engine model. Its engine sound is derived from the Monroe, the Bifta and the Kuruma.
