The Buckingham Valkyrie MOD.0[2] (Pronounced: Valk-er-ee) is a military transport helicopter featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Executives and Other Criminals update.
Design[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The Valkyrie MOD.0 is essentially a Valkyrie without the front gun, resulting in a smoother nose design. It shares most of the design and features from the regular Valkyrie, and shares the same color set and distribution (grey primary on fuselage and black secondary on nose).
The vehicle is equipped with port and starboard mounted Miniguns identical to the ones from the regular Valkyrie, seemingly based on the GAU-17/A minigun.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
Vehicle[]
Performance wise, it is identical to the standard Valkyrie, being slower than the Swift, but slightly faster than the Buzzard and the Buzzard Attack Chopper. It is quite maneuverable and is capable of turning quickly, which is useful in aerial engagements when the Valkyrie's port and starboard gunners need to aim. While flying forwards with full power and fully pitched forwards, the helicopter will descend very slowly. The helicopter also has a slight rightward list, which affects the aircraft during all modes of flight.
The aircraft is powered by twin turboshaft engines, which produce a traditional sound shared with the regular Valkyrie and most civilian aircraft, most notably the Frogger due to the four-bladed main rotor.
Defense[]
Like most civilian aircraft, the Valkyrie is quite fragile, as its engines will begin to smoke after a short amount of small arms fire to any part of its fuselage or instantly destroyed by a single grenade, bomb or rocket. Despite the aircraft's model having a fenestron tail rotor, the rotor can still be shot and destroyed, unlike the Frogger, FH-1 Hunter, or Akula.
While the helicopter has good maneuverability, it is still rather large, leaving little room for error while avoiding enemy homing missiles. While more difficult than with a Buzzard Attack Chopper, it is still feasible against the Homing Launcher.
Weaponry[]
Similar to the regular Valkyrie, the pilot cannot make use of the mounted guns. However, due to the removal of the front autocannon, the co-pilot also has no access to weaponry.
- Machine Gun: The two miniguns on the Valkyrie's port and starboard sides have a fast rate of fire of 1,200 rounds per minute and are capable of destroying an unarmored vehicle within a few seconds of sustained fire. The miniguns have a very long firing range and can hit targets from approximately 500 meters/1600 feet away, but suffer from reduced accuracy at range. They also feature a very wide turning and elevation radius, being able to fire almost directly 180 degrees facing forward or backward, albeit having poor gun depression. If there is only one player manning the miniguns, that player can press right on the D-Pad, or H on PC, to switch between the port and starboard miniguns. The recoil from firing the miniguns will push the helicopter in the opposite direction.

Prominent Appearances in Gameplay[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- It is used in the Adversary Mode, Extraction.
- In Signal Intercepts, three Valkyrie MOD.0s will attack the players while they pursue the Cargo Plane that needs to be hacked. All three can be destroyed.
- Used by attacking enemies in the Project 4808D: Desert survival.
- Juan Strickler owns a Valkyrie MOD.0 that he will use to search and chase the player after finding out his vault has been robbed in The Cayo Perico Heist. It cannot be destroyed and will retreat back to Juan's compound after taking enough damage or when the player travels far enough away from the island.
- The same helicopter is used during the Gather Intel prep mission if the player is roaming on the island for too long, and will immediately kick the player back to San Andreas if it detects them.
- A Valkyrie MOD.0 is seen during The Superdollar Deal finale, escorting the Mobile Operations Center with the printing plates. Another one may spawn chasing the player after stealing the plates.
Locations[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- A Valkyrie MOD.0 is only seen in the helipad inside El Rubio's Compound during The Cayo Perico Heist. However, it cannot be taken.
- A Valkyrie MOD.0 can be seen near the main road during the Superdollar Deal finale and is scripted to take off when the target truck passes nearby. It is possible to take it if the player manages to reach the truck fast, then kill the pilot first so it does not take off when provoked. It cannot be stored in a hangar, though.
Trivia[]
General[]
- MOD.0 is a term often used in weapons to determine its status as "model 0", the standard configuration. By carrying this principle to the helicopter, the Valkyrie MOD.0 would be, theoretically, a standard configuration model, and the Valkyrie would be a modified version with the explosive round turret.
