The Maibatsu MonstroCiti is a 2-door off-road competition car featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the San Andreas Mercenaries update.
Influence[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The MonstroCiti is primarily based on the 1997–1999 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution (V55W). The headlights seem to be borrowed from the 1991–2003 Tata Sierra. The bonnet scoops might have been taken from the first–third-generations Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution I–III (CD9A/CE9A). The tail lights are most likely inspired by the ones on the 1997–2004 Nissan Patrol (Y61). The rear fascia elements and, to a lesser extent, the front bumper seem to somewhat resemble the second-generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (J90).
Liveries[]
- The "MonstroCiti" livery is based on the Ralliart stripe decals on the 1997 Pajero Evolution.
- The "Rally Division" livery is based on the Ralliart racing decals on said vehicle.
- "The Fellowship of The Rally" livery is based on the 2001 Paris-Dakar Rally Mitsubishi Pajero HP #201 driven by Jean-Pierre Fontenay.
- The "Atomic Rally Spec" livery is based on the 1997 Dakar Rally Sonauto Mitsubishi Pajero #205 driven by Kenjiro Shinozuka.
Design[]
The interior uses the "Cavalcade" dial set and interior used on various cars, such as the Cavalcade, the Baller LE, and the Landstalker. However, unlike most vehicles with the same interior, the horn cap bears the manufacturer's emblem.

Performance[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
The MonstroCiti is powered by a V6 engine, which emits a unique, high-pitched tone when the throttle is active; with an HSW upgrade applied, the engine will be even louder and more aggressive.
Features[]
The MonstroCiti, along with selected Imani Tech vehicles, can be modified with a Remote Control Unit, which allows to drive the vehicle remotely, similar to the RC Bandito and the Invade and Persuade Tank. Note that the camera is always set to first-person view, and cannot be kept if the Missile Lock-on Jammer is installed.
Armor/Defense[]
With 100% Armor upgrade and a player inside, the MonstroCiti can withstand two homing missiles or Explosive rounds from the Heavy Sniper Mk II (blowing up on the next round), but it will be destroyed by a single RPG. It also has bullet-resistant windows, which are able to withstand 15 rounds from most firearms before being shattered. The Window Panel options are solid and can block bullets from most firearms, ideal for evading enemy pursuers.
The MonstroCiti, along with selected Imani Tech vehicles, can be modified with a Missile Lock-on Jammer, which prevents the lock-on system of the Homing Launcher and other weaponized vehicles to target onto it. Note that it cannot be kept if the Remote Control Unit is installed.

- Available for purchase from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $1,485,000.
- Conversion at Hao's Special Works available for $1,109,000.
Radio Stations[]
- In Grand Theft Auto Online, the default radio stations are grouped by genre. The MonstroCiti uses the "Rap" group which can play:
- West Coast Classics
- Radio Los Santos
- The Lab
- Blonded Los Santos 97.8 FM (Enhanced Editions only. May not play due to a three station limit within the group)
- IFruit Radio (Enhanced Editions only. May not play due to a three station limit within the group)
Oversights[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The license plate cannot be changed at any mod shops.
- The vehicle was initially disabled on the License Plate Creator. This has been fixed around the first half of 2024, meaning players can now change its license plate by using this tool.
- The foglights of the "Race Lights" and "Rally Lights" bullbar options are non-functional, only the "Heavy Duty Bullbar" one works as intended.
- The rear-wheel cover can be removed and left the carrier on the vehicle by applying any of the custom spare wheels, and quickly switching back and forth between the options in the "Spare Wheel" tab before applying the stock one. However, when removed this way, the Maibatsu logos will remain hovering in the air.
- The secondary and carbon wheel covers are not modeled properly from the front, allowing the player to see through them, most noticeable in first-person view.
- This has been fixed with the Bottom Dollar Bounties update.
- Applying any interior option will disable the player's ability to use drive-by weapons, but equipping the "Racing Kit" option gives it increased resistance to explosives in a similar manner to the Armor Plating upgrade on selected Imani Tech vehicles.
- The "Racing Kit" resistance has been patched after The Chop Shop update.
Trivia[]
Grand Theft Auto Online[]
- The vehicle's name is a clear play on Monstrosity, a direct reference to the Maibatsu Monstrosity, a vehicle frequently mentioned throughout the 3D Universe games in the Grand Theft Auto series.
- The MonstroCiti's design also seems to feature a callback to the Monstrosity/Landstalker in the side windows, as seen in the unique "hump" that's also present in the aforementioned cars.
- The Maibatsu Rally Division that was first introduced on the vehicle is a parody of Mitsubishi Motors' high-performance division, Ralliart.
Cut Content[]
- A livery named "'Tooned"[1] has been cut from the San Andreas Mercenaries update. In the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, the livery's fragment model containing the texture for this livery was mistakenly included with the vehicle's updated customization part model files.[2][3]
