Tony serves as the owner of a local grocery store in Monstropolis. He appears to show a good personality to Mike and Sulley who pass by him at Tony's Grossery, often holding monster-themed fruits and vegetables with his many tentacles. Some of the products Tony can deliver can consist of blood oranges, mangle fruit, or bilge berry.[1]
Physical Appearance[]
Tony is a tall slender mollusk-like monster with two eyes located on the top of his head on small stalks, six long tentacles which he uses for arms, five short tentacles which he uses as legs, making it a total of eleven tentacles. He also has an orange skin all around his body with green and fuchsia-patterned stripes around his legs and has a mustache located above his mouth.
At the beginning of the film, Mike and Sulley pass by Tony who is seen sorting out his products during his grocery store routine at Tony's Grossery. As the two pass by him, Tony feels excited that Mike and Sulley are going to break the all-time scare record. He then tosses a pair of blood oranges to Mike and Sulley for free so that he could wish them luck. He does not appear again afterwards.
Tony appears in the Main Street area as a non-playable character. In the intro cutscenes prior to each level starting in the said area, Tony is seen sorting out his products where he recaps that the residents of Monstropolis used to call him the "Fruitful Dodger". During gameplay, Tony is seen juggling purple and red balls in the background and can occasionally toss them at the player and/or their opponents throughout the game. Hitting Tony during gameplay with a ball causes him to react angrily to the player or opponent who threw it at him.
Tony was also an unlockable character in the discontinued Disney Crossy Road game. The player had to complete the "Men at Work" set in order to unlock him. When playing as Tony, monsters armed with fruits appeared throughout the game when approached and could toss away fruits when approached.
