George Sanderson is a supporting character in Disney•Pixar's 2001 animated film Monsters, Inc. and its 2013prequel. He is an orange monster that is prone to run afoul of the CDA's "Code 2319" (contact with a human child) several times, forcing the CDA to shave and scrub him to remove any trace of human contact.
George is a scarer on Scare Floor F at Monsters, Inc. He is an orange-furred monster with yellow stripes and a horn on top of his head.
He was first introduced when he comes out of his door, he has a child's sock on his back and when his assistant, Charlie sees the sock on his back, he gasps and shouts, "2319! We have a 2319!" The CDA agents arrive and remove the sock from George's back. The agents then shave most of George's fur off, have him showered, and place a cone on his head, making him lose his confidence. As the CDA leaves, one of the agents rips a bandaid off George's back, and he screams in pain.
Later on, Sulley puts some of Boo's toys in George's locker, which George accidentally left open, and when George opens it the next day, the toys fall on top of his head and Charlie calls again for the CDA agents who come and jump on George again putting more cones on him, causing his confidence to drop further.
Later, when Charlie manages to get a nervous George through a door from Nepal, Sulley bursts through after being banished and a sock falls on George's chest. Just as Charlie is about to call for the CDA again, a fed up George stuffs the sock into Charlie's mouth, before tossing him through the door and closing it, then casually walks away whistling. He is among the employees who witness the company CEO, Mr. Waternoose, get arrested and taken away by the CDA.
At the end of the film, George's fur grows back and works on his own on the new Laugh Floor making kids laugh instead of trying to scare them. He is seen carrying a watermelon and a sledgehammer, indicating that he is going to smash a watermelon with the hammer (a la Gallagher's Sledge-O-Matic gag).
During the special features clips available in some versions of Monsters, Inc., George is training for a football game. He is seen in the locker room getting ready, then it is revealed that they are not playing football, but watching football.
George Sanderson appears in Monsters University as a member of the Jaws Theta Chi (JOX) fraternity, competing in the Scare Games. When he and the rest of his fraternity are eliminated in the first challenge for using a protection gel against the toxic urchins, George and his fraternity brothers are sad and disappointed. A referee removes some of the gel from George and places an urchin near the exposed part, causing it to swell up as he screams in pain.
At the party in the Roar Omega Roar house, George does the same little dance he does in Monsters, Inc. on the Scare Floor just before the human sock is discovered and he's sanitized by the CDA. George, along with his fraternity members, can be seen laughing, though hesitant at first and looks distraught in his laughter, at the Oozma Kappa fraternity as Roar Omega Roar humiliates them.
At the end of the film, he appears on Mike and Sulley's first day as scarers meeting his assistant Charlie, showing he was also hired as a Scarer.
During the credits, George appears on his own Scare Card after graduating from Monsters University.
George Sanderson makes appearances in Disney parks around the world as a performing character who isn't a meetable one. He dances in many parades, shows and events. He appeared in the Pixar Play Parade in California Adventure until 2013.
There had been no incidents at the factory for 47 days prior to George's decontamination.
In one of the outtakes, when the CDA agents shave off George's fur and have him showered, they surprisingly find Roz taking his place instead, which sends the agents bursting into laughter.
George, unfortunately for himself, actually gets denuded over the course of the series: he wears a jacket in Monsters University, goes au naturel in the original film, and ends up de-furred by the CDA after being "contaminated" with a sock. Fortunately, this is resolved by his fur eventually growing back.
In the beginning of Monsters University, there is a young monster that looks exactly like a younger version of George, except his fur is purple instead of orange.
At the end of Monsters University, George was already seen inside Scare Floor F when Mike and Sulley arrive there for the very first time, implying that George was a senior and graduated at the same time Mike and Sulley, both freshmen, were expelled. Granted, it may have been years between Mike & Sulley started out in the mailroom and worked their way up before making it to the Scare Floor.
If one pays attention closely while the monsters laugh at Oozma Kappa's humiliation, George looked distraught at first before he hesitantly and unwillingly joins others in their laughing. This likely means that George didn't really find the Oozma's humiliation amusing but just joined his fraternity brothers out of group pressure.
In Monsters at Work, George is shown to be still shaved with a cone around his head, even in the second season, which takes place after the end of the first movie, when his fur was supposed to grow back, unless he got decontaminated again.
