Tad is a minor character in Disney•Pixar's 2003 animated film Finding Nemo and its 2016sequel, who is the son of Bill. He, along with Pearl and Sheldon, befriends Nemo in school. He admits himself to being obnoxious.
One of Mr. Ray's students, Nemo meets Tad and his friends while waiting to start school. When seeing Nemo's small fin he said it looked funny but after learning that it's his lucky fin decided to make Nemo feel more welcome by stating that he is obnoxious. When their teacher Mr. Ray arrives and the students head off to see him. He along with the rest of the class went on the field trip and while the class was observing a molecule, the three friends wander off with Nemo behind them. Tad was part of the group that not only saw the drop off but also a boat. Tad mentions that Sandy Plankton saw one of those before and that it was called a "butt." Like the other children, he tries to see how close to it he can swim, even encouraging Nemo to try as well. When Marlin accuses Nemo of swimming past the drop-off, he and the other kids try to defend Nemo. When Nemo defied his father and touched the boat Tad was awe struck. When the divers appear, he flees with the rest of the class, protected by Mr. Ray.
He briefly appears at the end welcoming Nemo and newcomer Squirt into the class.
Tad returns in the sequel, albeit only making two appearances throughout the film. Unlike in the first film, Tad does not have any speaking roles, along with Sheldon and Pearl who also return in the sequel. He first appears in the scene where Mr. Ray is telling his class about the stingray migration and during the spot where the stingray migration occurs in which Mr. Ray warns the class to stay away from the undertow to avoid getting caught in the current and later looking at Dory who was knocked unconsciously by the large group of stingrays. Tad last appears at the end of the film where he, Pearl, Sheldon, and the rest of the students discover that Mr. Ray joined the stingray migration in which Hank, Bailey, and Destiny substitute for Mr. Ray's class.
