Waxford is a character in the 2001 Disney•Pixar animated feature film Monsters, Inc. and other related media.
Background[]
Waxford is a short green monster with five stalks each containing eyeballs in them, each of them wearing a hard hat which he wears showing that he is an employee of Monsters, Incorporated. Instead of having standard feet, he uses tentacle legs as a means of walking. It is said that according to the Pixarpedia book that Waxford often serves as Spike Jones' assistant, describing the former as one of the shiftiest-looking monsters in the factory and while not really shifty at all, Waxford is described as a hardworking employee at Monsters, Inc. who keeps an eye on what is going on.[1]
Appearances[]
Monsters, Inc.[]
Waxford is first seen in a commercial promoting Monsters, Incorporated where an image of himself is seen next to a child. Later, when Randall Boggs is antagonizing Mike about a human child, he approaches Waxford to get his attention about the rumors he spread to him just as Waxford plans to leave the front desk.
Monsters University[]
Waxford appears in the beginning of the film where he is seen serving as an employee of Monsters, Inc. working with several other employees around the time when Mike's school class took a field trip to the company. Later in the film when Mike, Sulley, and the rest of Oozma Kappa sneak onto the roof of Monsters, Incorporated, Waxford was seen amongst the visitors below the group, but not before Mike and his allies escape from a group of guards who catch him for trespassing.
Video game appearances[]
Disney Crossy Road[]
Waxford appeared in the discontinued mobile game as a character in the Monsters, Inc. hub classified as a "Common" character. Playing as Waxford did not add changes during gameplay.
