Twenty years ago, the Disney Wiki was founded on May 8, 2005 by Evanwohrman, conceived through the love and passion for Disney that has touched the hearts of many for more than a hundred years. The inception of the Disney Wiki was fueled by the desire of fans to create a digital encyclopedia of Disney media and beyond. In those twenty years, we have created a milestone of over 54,000 articles. This community has grown and changed, editors have come and gone, but we have all left our mark in collaborating toward a shared pursuit.
The Disney Wiki is not the only thing that has grown enormously in the last twenty years. Disney itself has come a long way, from its humble beginnings with a mouse to award-winning animated features and expanding into major entertainment conglomerate with the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel Entertainment, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox.
My personal history with the Disney Wiki has been a long one. I have been a fan of Disney for as long as I can remember. Disney was my escape as a child. When I first joined in 2012, my contributions were always brief and minor until the summer of 2013. Since then, I have become a regular editor on Disney Wiki. Despite all the ups and downs, I've enjoyed contributing to this wiki, developing my skills and knowledge, and forming friendships. I've explored and edited other Wikis, but the majority of my contributions have always been to Disney Wiki.
I will now yield the floor to some of my colleagues for their own celebratory messages:
"I have always enjoyed being on different Wikis within the Fandom network, but this one I edit/contribute to the most! I used to be a standard user through both my old and new accounts, but after several years of hard work and assistance, I earned the position of Content Moderator! And as I always say, I prefer to be either called Retro Reed, or just Reed. :)"

"I've always loved Disney since I was a kid and still loved it when Marvel and Star Wars became part of it and I joined this wiki in 2015 when I first got Disney Infinity 3.0 Star Wars Edition to accumulate my love of Disney. I had some ups and downs with editing this wiki, but over the years I've gotten the hang of it and earned the title of admin. I'm also autistic and Disney was the main thing of comfort. I'll always contribute to this wiki for years to come."

"Its been a joy working on the wiki. I've been a massive consumer of Disney ever since I could remember, and contributing to this website has helped expand my knowledge. Im contantly learning, and love seeing what kind of content people relate to. I've enjoyed contributing to articles, I also feel passionate about."

"Being part of a community that loves and appreciates all things Disney and has the same care and respect to share and inform people about it has been one of the happiest experiences of my life. I just love the diverse and incredible world that this giant family has to offer and I hope to continue contributing to this massive library of Disney knowledge."

"I've loved Disney since I was a child and came across this wiki years ago because of my love for it. I edit other wikis too, but this one holds a special place in my heart. I've learned so much as an editor thanks to this wiki, and I'm always happy to come back here. I hope to continue contributing to this wiki for as long as I can."

"To me, Disney Wiki is one of the most magical wikis you can come across, purely because the magic is within the community that helps to build and shape it for those who wish to learn more about of the most iconic brands worldwide. What an honor it is to be part of this wiki's history, especially considering that I've been a massive Disney fan ever since I was a little kid. Congratulations to the Disney Wiki community for reaching this wonderful milestone!"

"I've always enjoyed editing articles on Disney Wiki since I had first registered over a decade ago. I like making necessary changes to articles regarding using proper grammar, renaming gibberish image files, or just expanding said articles where needed. I feel very pleased with myself that I have contributed to this site all these years, and I plan to remain on this wiki for as long as I possibly can to help out with future editing to articles and/or images."

"I've always loved Disney ever since I was a little kid, especially Pixar. So when I discovered this wiki, I wanted to help out in any way I could. At first I just popped in and out every now and then to fix typos, but when I started editing the wiki more regularly, I started hunting down inappropriate comments and reporting them. I got so good at finding them that I was promoted to Content Moderator and later Administrator, so I could delete those inappropriate comments myself. Becoming a Content Moderator, and then an Admin, was a great honor for me.Happy 20th anniversary, Disney Wiki. To everyone who contributes to this wiki I say: May the magic of Disney be with you, to infinity and beyond!"

"Disney's animated films and TV shows were among the earliest things I can recall watching as a child, so you can probably guess that I've been a lifelong fan. I first came to this wiki in 2010 (a good year to be a fan of Disney cartoons) and have been frequently contributing to it ever since. I've gone through a lot of ups and downs in doing so, but I've always enjoyed being able to share new information on the wiki, and I'm happy to have helped build it to where it is now. Happy Anniversary!"

"The Disney Wiki has come a long way from its humble beginnings 20 years ago. In ways, the story of the wiki is a reflection of Disney itself. From a small project maintained by only a handful of people, to a flourishing encyclopedia with a thriving community. A community whose collective love of Disney and all its mediums has created an astonishing compendium the likes of which continues to impress me with each passing year. Our contributors have gone above and beyond to ensure that our archival body of knowledge is not only accurate, but extensive, covering all corners of Disney no matter how obscure or underrated. To me, that level of dedication and love for the work is perhaps what I'm most proud of, regarding our community. You've all done a wonderful job. From all of us, to all of you, thank you."

"I have loved Disney ever since as a child, i add knowledge when Disney shows says and doing something of references of films and tv shows, i contribute as a i can. But sometimes we all grow older and will come a time when everyone of us have to retire. I am happy about when disney shows doing representation of people being in certain groups, for me and other people. Happy Anniversary!"

Now that it's time to wrap things up for this post, I'd like to sincerely thank our readers for enjoying the content we create, our contributors for pouring their passion into curating it, my fellow administrators and moderators for guiding this community to new heights, and the Fandom staff members who have supported us in our journey on this platform. Needless to say, the Disney Wiki wouldn't even exist without Disney itself. So a special thank you to the The Walt Disney Company who have helped weave this living, breathing narrative since 1923— the backbone of everything we've accomplished.
But let's not just leave things here... We would also love to hear from you! Is there anything you'd like to share about your own experience on the wiki? What drew you to this community? What has been your favorite part of reading, contributing, and/or commenting? Join the celebration in the comments!
Here's to the next twenty years!
