The Emilia Camp (エミリア陣営, Emiria Jin'ei) is a Royal Selection team that is led by Emilia.

Emilia wants to be the monarch in order to melt the frozen lands of the Great Elior Forest. In addition to that, she has stated that she has no desires except equality in the Kingdom of Lugunica if she becomes king. After the trials hosted by Echidna, Emilia learns that she might be unable to melt the ice without killing the inhabitants. Despite this, she has still resolved herself to become the next king.
Due to her existence as a silver-haired half elf whose appearance resembled the Witch of Envy, she was heavily discriminated against by those around her, including the nobility. That said, in the time that she took part in the Royal Selection, she started becoming more recognized as herself rather than the Witch, and public opinion about her and her camp has seemingly improved.
History[]
The camp was formed when Roswaal L. Mathers approached Emilia while she was still living at the Elior Forest with Puck and revealed to her that she had the necessary qualities to partake in the Royal Selection, having likely learned of her through his Book of Wisdom. As the Kingdom's resources might be used to restore the frozen forest, Emilia agreed to participate and moved to Roswaal Manor, despite Puck's protests, seeing that Roswaal likely had alternate motives. Thus, the camp was formed with Emilia, Roswaal, Puck, Ram, and Rem as its founding members.
As Puck expected, Roswaal had a hidden motive for approaching Emilia. Through his book, he learned of a boy named Natsuki Subaru, who would receive an Authority to rewind time and was destined to fall in love with Emilia. Seeing Subaru's ability as a priceless asset, Roswaal set up the events of their meeting by hiring Elsa Granhiert to kill Emilia. In the end, just as Roswaal intended, Subaru managed to stop Elsa and Emilia brought him into the faction, where Roswaal immediately set up a working relationship. However, Rem was initially suspicious of Subaru because of the Witch's scent lingering on him. This changed after he proved himself by saving the Arlam villagers from a Wolgarm attack and saving the children who were kidnapped by Meili Portroute, ultimately gaining her trust.
Once the Royal Selection officially began, the Emilia Camp started out in the worst possible position. On top of facing prejudice, Emilia failed to gain the nobles' support. Even worse, Subaru antagonized said nobles in a misguided attempt to stand up for her. In the midst of this, Roswaal began to set his plans for Subaru into motion. Knowing that the White Whale would appear at the Lifaus Highway and the Witch Cult was preparing to assassinate Emilia, he stepped back and allowed Subaru to handle them, while making sure he had the resources to overcome both obstacles. In the end, Roswaal's gamble paid off, as Subaru managed to defeat both the White Whale and the Sin Archbishop of Sloth by forging an alliance with the Crusch Camp and Anastasia Camp. Also, since he played leading roles in both battles, Subaru, and by extension, the Emilia Camp, received most of the credit.
In the aftermath of the Subjugation of the White Whale and the Subjugation of Sloth, the camp gained several new members. Subaru recruited a merchant he befriended, Otto Suwen, while Roswaal re-hired his old maid, Frederica Baumann, as well as a new apprentice maid, Petra Leyte. For Subaru’s efforts during the subjugations, he took Patrasche, who had allowed him to ride her, with him. However, the Emilia Camp suffered a loss when Rem had her existence eaten by the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony and became afflicted by the condition known as Sleeping Beauty, rendering her in a state of suspended animation.
With the camp in a comfortable position, Roswaal set up his most ambitious plan yet. He divided the camp up by luring one half to the Sanctuary while the other stayed at Roswaal Manor. At the Sanctuary, the residents forced Emilia to take a trial to undo the barrier that kept them in. Meanwhile, Roswaal set up an incident to happen at both the Sanctuary and the manor at the same time. He once again hired Elsa, and unintentionally Meili, to attack the mansion whilst he lured the Great Rabbit to the Sanctuary. Roswaal's goal was to further Subaru's development by forcing him to sacrifice one to save the other. During this time, Puck forcibly broke his contract with Emilia, allowing her to start recalling the memories from her past, enabling her to tackle and overcome the three Trials from the Echidna's Tomb.
After overcoming the hurdle that was Garfiel Tinzel, he managed to successfully have him join their camp, and he proceeded to bring him to fight off the two assassins that had appeared at the manor while leaving the care of Roswaal to Ram and Puck. The ensuing battle between them and their pets Guiltylaw and Rock Pig resulted in the manor being set on fire and burning. With the capture of Meili, Garfiel’s victory against Elsa, and the deaths of the Guiltylaw and Rock Pig, Subaru managed to convince the Great Spirit of the Forbidden Library, Beatrice, to contract with him and leave the burning mansion, and the two went on to fight and defeat the Great Rabbit alongside Emilia, who successfully managed to overcome the Sanctuary’s trials and destroy the barrier.
After the events at the Sanctuary, Subaru officially became Emilia's Knight. Because of this, Roswaal brought Annerose Miload and Clind into the camp so that the latter could train him.
Sometime after Subaru’s knighting ceremony, Frederica and Garfiel, who were on an outing in Costuul, discovered a man named Hayden Garo who could manipulate the city's magicreation tools and reported the incident to Costuul’s mayor. With Hayden causing City Hall’s collapse by sending a giant magicreation tool haywire and kidnapping Frederica after she and her brother rescued everyone from the collapsing building, Garfiel and Clind ventured to retrieve her and put the incident to rest while Subaru, Emilia, and Beatrice took care of the haywire Lightbugs in Costuul. Frederica's kidnapper, Hayden, intended to make Frederica into the queen of a new nation where demi-humans were dominant and humans were exterminated by unlocking the secrets of rare blood, which he and the kidnapped maid both possessed. Present with him was one of his subordinates, a researcher of rare blood, Leonardo Baroness. The duo of Garfiel and Clind found Hayden and Leonardo's hideout due to Frederica leaving a trail of blood behind. Clind took care of rescuing Frederica, fending off Leonardo when he absorbed his vials of rare blood and transformed into a liquid blood monster. Garfiel successfully defeated Hayden, however, he managed to escape before being captured. He briefly met with Frederica before his escaping, swearing to her that they would meet again, and he allowed her to deal him a scar as remembrance of their encounter.
Roughly a year after the events in the Sanctuary, the Anastasia Camp contacted the Emilia Camp and invited them to the Watergate City of Priestella, promising Emilia a glintstone capable of capturing the Beast of the End's presence, which would allow Puck to eventually awaken quicker. During their stay in the Watergate City, the other Royal Selection Camps arrived, as it turned out that Anastasia planned to get to know each other better and possibly forge some alliances. Sadly, the laid-back times soon ended, as the day after they arrived, the Witch Cult made their grand appearance. The Sin Archbishops of Greed, Wrath, Gluttony (Lye and Roy), and Lust besieged the city, taking control of it and apparently flooding one of the districts. The Camps were forced to work together to defeat the vile presence in the city. After a long and arduous battle with the Cult, the Royal Selection Candidates managed to prevail, in no small part due to the Emilia Camp's struggles and contributions in the form of Subaru masterminding large portions of retaliation.
After the death of the Sin Archbishop of Greed and the capture of the Sin Archbishop of Wrath, the Emilia Camp set their goals on the Pleiades Watchtower, located in the far east of the country. They planned to locate the "Sage" and somehow find a solution that would allow them to revert the damages done by Lust and Gluttony. Meanwhile, other members of the camp would remain in Priestella to help in the city’s recovery.
During their time there, Garfiel and Otto became involved in a mission to retrieve the remains of a Witch, working alongside Ricardo Welkin of the Anastasia Camp, Ezzo Cadner of the Felt Camp, and Liliana Masquerade. They successfully managed to overcome the obstacles and retrieve the remains, though Garfiel also realized the existence of certain “glyphs” that were the same as what Subaru sometimes wrote with. Not long after, Otto retrieved the repaired Tome of Wisdom from Darts.
On their way, the Emilia Camp decided to take Meili Portroute with them in order to resolve the possible witchbeast danger. Select members of the Anastasia Camp also accompanied them, as both Anastasia and her knight Julius Juukulius had suffered unconventional damages: Julius had lost his name in a deadly fight with Gluttony and Anastasia's body had been possessed by her Artificial Spirit, Echidna, who was unable to return the body to its rightful owner. While at the Pleiades Watchtower, the two camps found themselves in an unprecedented situation, as they were forced to deal with five obstacles as well as Subaru's sudden loss of memories due to the reappearance of Gluttony.
The two camps successfully managed to overcome all of the Gluttonies, with Lye Batenkaitos spitting up all of the names and memories he had previously devoured before he was beheaded, Roy Alphard being sealed, and Rui Arneb being left behind in the Corridor of Memories. Simultaneously, with the conquering of the Pleiades Watchtower, Emilia ultimately became the tower’s administrator. However, Subaru, alongside an unconscious Rem and Rui Arneb is teleported to the Sacred Vollachia Empire. Shortly after, after over a year of being in a vegetative state, Rem finally regained consciousness.
Due to the circumstances, while Subaru was forced to attempt to return to Lugunica, he was forced to assist Vincent Vollachia in retrieving the throne from his aide. Meanwhile, the camp tasked their new addition, Meili, with assisting the next expedition team with reaching the watchtower, while the majority of the camp left for Picoutatte in order to find a way to smuggle themselves into Vollachia in order to retrieve Subaru and Rem. While there, Otto managed to patch things up with Diadora Regundra, and with her and his family’s help, the camp traversed through the Everlasting Darkness. Due to some issues, Petra met with the representative of the molepeople, Musica, using a oath curse mark to promise that she would allow them to meet with Emilia when their business was finished.
Soon after arriving in Vollachia, the rest of the camp also assisted Vincent after preventing the destruction of Guaral, as Subaru and Rem had been separated from him. This led to their partaking in the Battle for the Imperial Capital. This fight was interrupted by an unexpected enemy, forcing everyone to retreat, though not before Emilia recovered Subaru and Rem.
Once everyone was reunited, Vincent officially requested Emilia for her assistance in quelling the Great Disaster, knowing full well what this would mean for her standings in the Royal Selection. Emilia accepted this request, signifying the first time in history that Vollachia and Lugunica ever put their differences aside and joined forces. Meanwhile, Subaru managed to gain the backing of most of his camp with allowing Rui, now named Spica, to remain in their care, despite her identity as a former Sin Archbishop.
Assisting the Vollachian forces, the Emilia Camp once again teamed up with the members of the Anastasia Camp and Priscilla Camp in the fight against an old remnant of the Demi-Human War, ultimately coming out victorious in the end, though at the cost of Priscilla Barielle’s life. A few days after the end of the Great Disaster, it was decided that Spica would remain in the Vollachia Empire to assist in cleaning up the remaining undead, hoping to improve her standing and reduce the chances of her being killed when she returns to Lugunica. Afterward, the Emilia Camp, accompanied by the other members of the Priscilla Camp, returned to Lugunica.
Shortly after returning to Lugunica, the camp split up, with Subaru taking Petra, Garfiel, Beatrice, Patrasche, Al, and Meili, who was brought by Clind, to the Pleiades Watchtower. Emilia and Otto returned to the Royal Capital to report the entire debacle in Vollachia as well as the death of Priscilla. Ram and Rem returned to Roswaal Manor, and Roswaal, Frederica, and Schult went to the Barielle Domain to minimize the confusion brought about by their lord’s death. However, this was all to Al’s design, and on the first night of the stay at the tower, he began his scheme to remove Subaru from the world.

- Due to the fact that only members of the camp and residents of Arlam Village and the Sanctuary bore witness to its defeat, the fact that Beatrice was temporarily unable to recast her magic, and that there were no remains left behind, its defeat cannot be confirmed without the passing of time without any attacks. As such, for the time being, the Great Rabbit's defeat cannot be officially credited to the Emilia Camp, though stories of it have spread throughout the world.
- Repelling the Witch Cult during the Battle for Priestella.
