Season 3 is the third season of the anime adaptation of Nagatsuki Tappei and Otsuka Shinichirou's light novel series animated by studio White Fox. It is preceded by Season 2. While the season is only confirmed to be adapting Arc 5, promotional material for the season also depicts characters from Arc 6, suggesting it may adapt both arcs.
It was announced on March 25, 2023 at AnimeJapan 2023. Season 3 premieres in October 2024, with an initial advance screening of the 90 minute extended-length first episode taking place on July 5, 2024 at Anime Expo and special screenings in Japan beginning on August 30, 2024. So far, it has been announced that there will be 16 episodes split into two cours, with 8 episodes comprising the Attack Part (襲撃編, Shūgeki-hen) beginning on October 2, 2024, and the other 8 episodes comprising the Counterattack Part (反撃編, Hangeki-hen) beginning on February 5, 2025.
Synopsis
With Elsa's relentless assault subdued, the Great Rabbit defeated thanks to Beatrice's new contract, and the Sanctuary liberated, a full year passes. Natsuki Subaru savors a life of fulfillment while the Emilia Camp stands united for the Royal Selection, until an envoy arrives with a letter prefacing the end of those peaceful days. Anastasia, a Royal Selection candidate, has invited Emilia to the Watergate City of Priestella, recognized as one of Lugunica's Five Great Cities. Accepting the invitation, the party departs for Priestella, where various reunions await. One is surprising, one unintended, and one fateful. Malice stirs beneath the surface and an unprecedented threat looms close. Once again, the boy must strive to confront his cruel destiny.[1]
