Information |
Demi-Beasts (亜獣, Ajū) are any number of organisms that are a cross between flesh and inorganic objects, with weapons like axes or spears protruding from their bodies and have their origins of creation from the Sin Archbishop of Lust. Interestingly enough, they are unrelated to witchbeasts.
Information[]
Unlike natural lifeforms, demi-beasts are are unnatural creatures mixed with inorganic material. They have have been shown to have numerous differences between each other. For example, some demi-beasts possess physical characteristics from different animals with claws and fangs, and they even entirely lack body parts like eyeballs, ears, and mouths. In exchange for lacking body parts, the bodies of demi-beasts are fused with axes, spears, and even swords or shields.[1] They have a pink and black color scheme that matches the colors of Capella's appendages and have been observed in at least two sizes, one small and one large.
The demi-beasts were created by the Sin Archbishop of Lust, Capella Emerada Lugunica.[2] While their exact method of creation is unknown, she states that she made them because "no one taught her to not play with corpses" and that more deaths would create more demi-beasts, implying that she makes them from the corpses of the dead.[3][4]
Trivia[]
- Because demi-beasts did not originally exist in the web novel version of Arc 5, their first appearance during the aforementioned arc was in Volume 18.
- Before being revealed in the light novels, the demi-beasts' designs were introduced in Episode 56 of Season 3 of the anime.
