Patrasche (パトラッシュ) is Subaru's earth dragon that he officially received from Crusch Karsten for his efforts in the Subjugation of the White Whale. She would end up playing a supporting role in Arc 4 and Arc 6, and a minor role in Arc 8.
Appearance[]
Patrasche is a black earth dragon of the Diana species.
Personality[]
Despite being of a species known for being feisty and rather proud, Patrasche is extremely loyal to Subaru, as she is willing to put her life on the line to serve him, such as when she sacrificed herself to save Subaru from Satella's shadows at the Pleiades Watchtower and from an enraged Garfiel Tinzel at the Sanctuary. She is also willing to show her protectiveness to Subaru’s allies, as seen when she protected Rem from Lye Batenkaitos, taking numerous injuries in the process, and she even shows a certain type of friendship with the similarly proud Ram, with the oni going so far as to say that she is too good for Subaru.
In Arc 8, she has also shown a rather commanding presence among other earth dragons. When the undead Valgren appeared over the coupled dragon carriages, as the other earth dragons trembled in fear and were tempted to scatter, Patrasche scolded them with her own roar and kept them in check, not showing even the slightest hint of fear despite the Dragon’s incredible presence.
History[]
While the majority of Patrasche’s history is unknown, Volcanica seems to recognize her name, despite not having been given it until Subaru’s arrival into the world. At some point, Patrasche found herself in the care of Crusch Karsten and her estate.
Abilities[]
Divine Protection (加護 Kago): As an earth dragon, Patrasche has the Divine Protection of Wind Evasion (風避けの加護 Kazeyoke no Kago), which enables her to be unaffected by the wind and not encounter any wind resistance while running. The effect also applies to any dragon carriage that she pulls. After activation, there is a cooldown before she can use it again.
