The Omega Party (オメガ一行, Omega Ikkō) is a group consisting of Omega and her various companions who travel together.
Information[]
The Omega Party travels throughout the world per Omega's whims on an aimless journey.[1] Originally, her only companions were the five Witches of Sin whose souls are housed within her glintstone anchor, but as she visited more places, she came across multiple individuals who joined her party for one reason or another. Omega has decided to travel alongside others to prevent herself from being discovered by a currently unknown individual who is a shared enemy of the Witches in hopes of not standing out,[2][3] although this approach brings other risks.[4]
At the recommendation of other Witches, Omega is mindful of causing too many deaths for the sake of Colette and Palmyra, the two children she travels with.[5] In addition, she has been given a deadline of two years by Minerva to reacquire her original powers.[6]
History[]
Following her reincarnation, Omega left the Sanctuary, taking with her a glintstone anchor that housed the souls of Typhon, Daphne, Carmilla, Minerva, and Sekhmet. She unintentionally burned down a forest when using a fire magic spell to heat herself up. Later, she encountered a group of thieves, killed them with her miasma by projecting her true appearance, and stole their clothes for herself.
Some time later, Omega accidentally fell into a river and was saved by Colette, a young girl who lived by herself just outside of a local village in the forest. The two of them spent several days together. When Omega decided to take a walk on another day, Colette informed her to not travel to the eastern side of the forest to avoid a witchbeast that had been attacking people there. Omega went anyways and met Palmyra, who also warned her of a "Beast". That night, she travelled to the eastern side of the forest and attempted to murder the beast herself until Palmyra came and revealed that it was Colette. Learning of the young girl's ostracization as a Witch for being the only survivor caused by a "Beast", Omega came to the conclusion that Colette had accepted the discrimination she faced and decided to try and "become" a Witch by killing the girl she had only recently met. Omega took off a bracelet that Colette had owned since she was very young, the Beast Protection Bracelet, the meteor that was behind her transformation into a beast. Manifesting her true form to Palmyra and an unconscious Colette, Omega set off for the village in hopes of setting things straight with the villagers. However, this only made things worse for Colette, as she was forced to leave the area as a consequence for being acquainted with a "Witch". Seeing as how Colette had nowhere else to go and Palmyra had used up all of her courtesy for the village, the two of them were invited by Omega to join her, officially forming their party.
Once the Omega Party was formed, in the Castle of Dreams, the six Witches had a meeting together where they discussed Echidna's reasoning for allowing Colette and Palmyra to travel with her. To avoid being found by an unnamed enemy of the Witches, Echidna chose to blend in with other humans and avoid being discovered by them. As a result of this reasoning, Minerva set a two year deadline for Echidna to regain her full powers. It is decided by Echidna they should leave Lugunica. Believing Gusteko was out of the question, between Vollachia and Kararagi, she set her sights on the latter.
The trio then proceeded to ironically cross over into Gusteko. On one day, they were caught in a severe blizzard and rescued by Noelle Tuérico, an Itinerant Preacher of the Gustekan Church, after Omega launched a fire spell into the distance. They wait for Omega to regain her energy in a makeshift snow house Noelle created and speak with her in the meantime, learning about the term Silver Blessing, her position in the Gustekan Church and the nearby church building they can use as a refuge. They visit the church once Omega is rejuvenated and acquaint themselves with Podoso, Admonsah, and Maqueena, each of whom have came to the church to meet the pastor who lives there, Coatl. The trio learns of Coatl's history of having saved a local town from the effects of an avalanche unintentionally caused by the Ice Thieves and how he took up a position of the town's watcher following his charity towards its people, becoming known by the moniker Saint of the Avalanche. Maqueena and Podoso split off from everyone else to visit another part of the church, and another visitor named Trellock arrives while they are out. Eventually, Maqueena discovers something and screams, prompting everyone else to follow after her to find what has caused her fear. They all stumble upon Coatl's corpse, prompting Omega to say that there was a cold-blooded killer among them.
Omega took charge of the situation, using detective work to determine the killer's identity. She heard from Podoso that there had been a string of serial murders, with Coatl being the eighth known victim. The other victims were peddlers and travellers. Querying him about the seventh victim, Omega then sets her sights on Admonsah, whom she was certain was associated with them. They learn Admonsah was a former slave who unexpectedly killed his owner in self-defense. He was unequivocally forgiven by a majority of the group. Omega tries to ascertain why Coatl would be murdered, searching for any hidden savings. Suddenly, everyone but Maqueena in the room fell asleep to the effects of the Muskrim flower, and she made her getaway with Coatl's collection of magic stones, not wanting to stay and fall victim to his murderer. She was stopped outside by Noelle, who says she could not be affected by such a simple drug and had killed Coatl out of revenge for his former membership of the Ice Thieves and his part in causing the avalanche that devastated Leanotte, her town. Omega arrives to stop Noelle before she could kill Maqueena, outlining that she was only a con artist who perceived Coatl's connection to the Ice Thieves rather than an outright member before giving the ultimatum that she would die if she caused another death. Meanwhile, the culprit responsible for the serial murderers, Trellock, attempted to murder Colette, but her Beast Protection Bracelet activated, severely injuring him. In the end, they pretended that Noelle had apprehended Trellock and left, Podoso decided to take in Admonsah, and Maqueena was forced to stop conning people. With her revenge foiled, Noelle was left aimless. Colette proposed for her to join their group to which she accepted upon Omega's approval.
