Season 2 is the second season of the anime adaptation of Nagatsuki Tappei and Otsuka Shinichirou's light novel series animated by studio White Fox. It is preceded by Season 1 and followed by Season 3. The season adapts the remainder of Arc 3 not included in Season 1 and all of Arc 4.
It was announced on March 23, 2023 at AnimeJapan 2019. Season 2 was a split cour season, having a total of 25 episodes. Its 13-episode first cour premiered on July 8, 2020, following delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 12-episode second cour premiered on January 6, 2021.
Synopsis
No matter what it takes, I'm going to save you.
After defeating Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti, the Witch Cult's Sin Archbishop of Sloth, Natsuki Subaru reunited with Emilia. The two had finally solved their bitter quarrel and reconciliated, but that was only the beginning of a new tempestuous chapter. A threat beyond anything he has ever imagined and a ruthless reality lie in wait. Once again, the boy must strive to confront his cruel destiny.[1]
